The Corporate Development team collaborates with our global leadership team to identify and develop inorganic acquisition, partnership and investment strategies to grow our business and achieve our mission. The team uses strategic, financial, investment, and operational frameworks and analysis to identify, negotiate, and execute strategic acquisitions for Spotify. We have acquired over 15 companies over the last five years, which have led our expansion into new growth areas like podcasts, audiobooks, and AI.

This position will be based out of our New York City office.

What You'll Do

    • Analyze market data and evaluate industry landscapes including relevant competitors, industry economics, and market trends
    • Support M&A evaluation across Spotify’s business units, including developing buy/build/partner analyses and financial models to support business cases
    • Prepare presentations which translate the learnings from research and analysis into effective presentation and discussion materials for relevant internal stakeholders
    • Manage acquisition diligence process, including internal and external stakeholder management while also identifying issues and paths to resolution
    • Build financial models for valuation and deal structuring and translate model outcomes to effective presentation materials
    • Support development of Corporate Development strategic frameworks and toolkits
    • Work with other Corporate Development team members to frame strategic themes and their application to specific opportunities
    • Work across global offices with distributed business unit teams
    • Collaborate with relevant external stakeholders and advisors as applicable, manage deliverables

Who You Are

    • Strong academic qualifications
    • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in investment banking or strategy consulting, preferably in the technology and/or media sectors.
    • Strong financial analysis, valuation and modeling skills
    • Ability to customize and apply financial and strategic frameworks; develop and prove out hypotheses in observed data / performance
    • Curiosity for new business innovation and disruption in the consumer digital space
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to create clear, persuasive presentation materials, including written business narratives
    • A self starter with an initiative to see problems and help solve them

Where You'll Be

    • This role will be based out of our NYC office
    • In-office expectations are at least 3x per week
The United States base range for this position is $108,141- $154,847 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
