We have a great opportunity for an Artist & Label Partnerships Lead to come and join the band! The team is the face of Spotify to artists, managers, labels & distributors.

The Artist & Label Partnerships team are the primary points of contact for record labels, distributors, managers and artists. They are responsible for educating artists & their teams about Spotify standard methodologies, resources and tools and for building impactful and innovative artist partnerships to ensure that artists, managers and labels see Spotify as the #1 partner for artist development.

The team sits within the overall UK & IE Music org and will work very closely with other teams in the same department; Music Operations & Strategy, Editorial and Artist Marketing. Other key internal partners and teams include Consumer Marketing, Studios and Music teams in international markets.

The ideal candidate is eager to motivate change to improve the opportunities for artists to be successful on the Spotify platform.
You will report directly to the Head Of Music (UK & IE) and lead 5 team members.

What you'll do

    • Handle strategic and mutually profitable relationships with key industry partners (artists, managers, labels, industry organisations) across the UK & Ireland
    • Empower partners with opportunities, insights and guidance to help them achieve their goals and build their audiences
    • Oversee multiple market-leading artist partnerships across multiple timelines, keep projects on track, and comprehensively report on progress and results at each stage
    • Work cross functionally with other Music team Leads to ensure alignment and fulfill company strategic goals
    • Lead, develop and inspire the team, building a fruitful team culture that combines creativity with data-driven decision making
    • Strategise and execute educational initiatives and scaled partnerships that support artists and their teams
    • Attend & speak at events, conferences and shows. Some travel required.

Who you are:

    • You have extensive music industry experience in an artist and partner facing role
    • Minimum 10 years of career experience in the music/entertainment industry and a strong understanding of the UK & IE music industries and an excellent reputation amongst your network of label and artist contacts
    • Significant experience of successfully handling a diverse team and having a track record in successful agile/change management
    • Self-aware and able and willing to examine both your own work and that of your team’s critically in order to continually iterate and improve.
    • You can work with cross-functional teams across a large distributed global music and technology organisation
    • Have a deep understanding of modern music styles and wider cultural influences, and continually strive to stay abreast of current trends. You are a true fan - you understand how fandom communicates and what drives and excites them.
    • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to create copy and presentations rapidly, and express ideas and insights quickly and clearly to a range of partners.
    • Can be creative, collaborative, and comfortable with analysing data and understanding how to apply it.
