Our company is currently hiring Signals and Communications Maintainers across Canada for full-time field-based work. While our priority is signal-qualified maintainers with hands-on experience, we’re also open to considering apprentices who have completed formal S&C training and are field-ready.
All candidates must be eligible to work on CPKC property.
Work cycles vary depending on client needs. Typically 8 days on/6 days off or 7 days on/7 days off
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of two (2) years of Signals & Communications experience
- Experience in crossing deactivations
- Ability to pass eRailSafe (background check)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Abstract
- Must be willing to travel across Canada
- Must be willing to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing (safety sensitive position)
- Hold a valid signal maintainer certificate (CN ATP, CP, or equivalent)
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad S&C equipment
- Regulatory testing of S&C equipment (weekly, monthly, semi-annually, etc.)
- Utilize testing equipment and software
- Lead a crew as acting foreman (up to 6 other employees)
- Timekeeping
- Maintain documents, records, and reports as required
- Operate Hi-rail vehicles
- Operate various power tools
- Provide daily updates to the field manager
- Other duties as assigned
What We Offer
- Competitive wage range is $34.00–$50.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications, pay scale increases with credentials and experience
