Spruce is hiring a business development leader for decentralized identity use cases for the public sector and institutions. We believe that public servants also want a user-controlled internet, and we can work with them to make it possible. In the near term, this role will run both business development and internal project management for these engagements. Longer-term, this role will direct project management and shift focus towards business development and growth. The ideal candidate is autonomous, has a strong sense of ownership, and thrives in a high-responsibility environment. They should have a strong interest and demonstrated history at the intersection of public sector, digital identity, and cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

    • Develop strong trust and relationships with external consultants, contracting partners, and various government and institutional stakeholders.
    • Act as strategic and tactical project manager for Credible pilots and contracts; collaborate with directors on RFP/RFO responses.
    • Grow the Credible brand through a consultative approach to business development.
    • Gain strong working knowledge of Spruce technical capabilities in order to spot and speak to nascent use cases.

Qualifications

    • Outstanding relationship building skills, communication skills, and judgment. Strong ability to “read the room” is critical.
    • 4 years of public sector experience, working at the U.S. state or federal levels on technical programs, either directly within a government body or as an external consultant with direct stakeholder engagement.
    • Ability to interact with high-level external stakeholders while also quickly gaining familiarity with technical project details and their business impact.
    • 2 years project management experience.
    • Drive. This division will be a reflection of the individual in this role. The ideal candidate will thrive on the challenges and opportunities available in this high-growth opportunity.
    • Familiarity with handling requirements for high-assurance environments, including but not limited to SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.
