Position Overview

We're seeking a skilled Product Owner with experience in payment processing and processor integrations to lead payment-related development projects. As Product Owner for Payments at SpryPoint, you'll play a key role in collaborating with utility clients and product teams to manage the SpryWallet product backlog and execute our product roadmap. You'll gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure development work aligns with client needs while supporting the team through sprint cycles.

Our ideal candidate understands the end-to-end payment processing lifecycle, is knowledgable about payment industry regulations, and can effectively translate customer requirements into actionable development work.

Responsibilities

    • Facilitate discovery sessions with internal and external stakeholders to refine existing features and uncover new opportunities
    • Manage and evaluate product ideas from multiple internal and external sources
    • Create feedback loops throughout the development cycle to ensure ideas translate to valuable products
    • Work closely with Development Team Leads to ensure successful product delivery
    • Engage with Service Delivery on specific project requirements and influence customer transition timelines
    • Support the Development team through SCRUM sprint cycles
    • Partner with Customer Success to identify patterns and trends in customer issues and enhancement requests
    • Provide product demonstrations to internal and external stakeholders
    • Deliver new feature education to support user enablement for both internal teams and customers
    • Collaborate on defining product management processes and best practices, including internal education
    • Partner with the Product Manager to define objectives and key results for the Payment product
    • Collaborate with the product management team on Quality Management practices through design, development, and release cycles
    • Provide forecasts on feature availability and product timelines
    • Support the sales process by estimating quotable development work
    • Collaborate with business development on RFP responses and Statement of Work documents
    • Stay current on payment industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
    • Partner with processing vendors and technology providers to gather requirements and build best-in-class solutions

Qualifications and Competencies

    • Thorough and detail-oriented approach to work
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively
    • Positive, creative, and curious mindset
    • Understanding of system design and analysis
    • Experience in the Utilities Industry preferred
    • Strong collaboration skills with internal teams and external customers
    • Experience working with payment processor integrations
    • Strong understanding of typical payment workflows
    • Familiarity with payment industry terminology
    • PCI DSS certification or equivalent security training highly preferred
