JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This is an exciting opportunity for applicants who are enthusiastic about learning how to manage the implementation of enterprise SaaS-based software for the utilities industry.
SpryPoint is looking for a Project Manager to exceed our customers expectations. As part of a rapidly growing team, we’re looking for people who care about customers, are constantly strategizing for new ways of doing things, finding efficiencies and creating new processes to improve our overall project success.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working directly with our team and our utility customers to implement cutting edge enterprise applications. As a member of the PMO team, you will work together with our SpryPoint customers and partners to deliver quality implementations. We are looking for someone who seeks to constantly expand their knowledge of SpryPoint products and the utilities industry. Reporting to the PMO, you will be the leader of multiple large projects, managing communications, capacity planning and risk, forecasting effort and revenue, while maintaining a positive and engaging presence with each of your project teams.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Applying SpryPoint's hybrid implementation methodology to our enterprise projects
- Developing realistic, manageable project schedules, and ensuring they are up to date and accurate with appropriate task assignments and effort
- In coordination with other Project Managers, prioritizing work effort across our Professional Services and Development teams to more clearly define project timelines and ensure balanced workloads
- Maintain detailed and accurate project documents per the SOW and our implementation methodology
- Proven financial acumen experience gained by managing projects
- Experience negotiating resources and deliverables within a matrix organization
- Experience negotiating with customers on modification and compromises to project scope or deliverables based on project schedule, contingencies and predefined acceptance criteria
- Using keen attention to detail to support the delivery of professional project documentation to our clients
- Develop engaging relationships with our clients and our internal team at all departments and strata of the organization
- Proven ability to understand and explain the impact of project discussions to both customers and internal stakeholders
- Assist with gap analysis and discovery workshops
- Review and understand all contractual and SOW requirements are being met and delivered successfully
Travel and working at client sites across North America will be required to be successful in this position. The successful candidate must be able to travel outside of Canada with no known legal or immigration related impediments.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Post Secondary degree or diploma, preferably in project management or business administration
- Minimum three years experience related experience in enterprise project management
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SaaS implementations
- Currently holds and/or are pursuing a PMP, CAPM or comparable project management designation would be considered an asset.
- Experience or familiarity with the utilities industry would be an asset
- General familiarity or experience working with Management Information Systems such as Customer Information Systems (CIS), Work Orders & Asset Management (WAMS), Mobile Workforce Management (MWM), and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are a bonus.
Technical Skills
- Fluent with productivity tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office and others.
- Experience with web-based Portfolio/ProjectProduct Management tools
- Both traditional and agile project management methodology training
- Experience with SaaS-based product implementations would be an asset

- Strong analytical problem solving skills with an emphasis on making decisions quickly and effectively.
- Exceptionally organized and able to build and follow defined processes to ensure all tasks/steps are completed
- Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple customer facing projects a once
- Confidence to work independently and interpersonal skills to work as a member of internal and external teams.
- Strong written/documentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Resourcefulness and an ability to develop a deep understanding of utility industries - electric, water, wastewater, gas, telecommunications, sanitation, and others.
