Position Overview:

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we seek a skilled and driven Recruiter to join our team and play a pivotal role in bringing our recruiting efforts in-house. This will be the second recruiter hired for SpryPoint and will report directly to our Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition.

As a Recruiter at SpryPoint, you will be the first point of contact for talent acquisition, responsible for shaping our workforce in alignment with our company's vision and goals. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, providing insights and expertise to attract top-tier talent to fuel our company's growth. As you will be the second in-house recruiter, you will need to help create job interview SOPs, create sourcing strategies, post jobs, screen candidates, lead first-round screening of applicants, manage all candidate communications and scheduling, as well as support offer negotiations and handoff to our in-house People team after offer acceptance.  This offers the unique opportunity to support all teams and departments as-needed (with a focus on our customer-facing teams) and gradually transition into a specialized area as the business scales.

Responsibilities:

Build relationships with university co-op programs and support our Co-Op hiring program.
    • Technical Expertise: Understand and effectively communicate the technical aspects of job roles to candidates, ensuring a solid match between candidate skills and company needs.
    • Candidate Experience: Provide an exceptional candidate experience by maintaining clear communication, setting expectations, and facilitating a smooth interview process and handoff of the candidate to the People Ops team after receiving accepted offers.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with hiring managers and department heads to understand hiring needs, develop job descriptions, and establish hiring criteria.
    • Employer Branding: Support SpryPoint's employer brand and promote our unique company culture to potential candidates.
    • Diversity and Inclusion: Champion diversity and inclusion in recruitment practices, ensuring a diverse candidate pool and a fair and unbiased hiring process.
    • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make data-driven recommendations for process improvement.

Qualifications & competencies:

    • Experience: 2+ years of experience in recruitment; in-house experience at a high-growth SaaS company is preferred. Customer-facing experience in SaaS (Sales Development Rep, Onboarding Specialist, Customer Success Associate, etc.) will also be considered.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively assess candidates and position opportunities.
    • Adaptability: Willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced startup environment while contributing to various recruitment needs.
    • Collaboration: Proven ability to build strong working relationships with hiring managers, interviewers, and more.
    • Results-oriented: Track record of meeting or exceeding recruitment goals and targets with a strong sense of urgency
    • Location: Based in Canada. This is a remote-first position with occasional travel (5% for company events/team gatherings).
