We are seeking a Quality Engineer with expertise in inspection and control plans to join our team in Blue Ash, OH. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering within aerospace or manufacturing and possess the ability to independently develop and validate inspection plans and detailed work instructions.
What to Expect:
- This is a 3-month contract position, where you will support our client on a full-time basis, 5 days a week at first or second shift hours. You’ll be part of a dedicated inspection and quality engineering team, ensuring the quality of products sourced from our suppliers. Upon joining, you will be deployed to specific sites and projects based on client needs and production schedules.
What You'll Do:
- Interpret ballooned engineering drawings to establish key inspection criteria.
- Develop comprehensive inspection plans (control plans) and detailed work instructions for quality inspections across supplier locations.
- Perform quality verifications on mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, and materials to ensure they meet specifications and design requirements.
- Conduct documentation reviews, including certifications and specifications, for conformance to client requirements.
- Communicate with internal teams and suppliers to address and resolve any quality discrepancies.
- Utilize a variety of inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), as needed.
- Use an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to route parts and track quality progress.
What You'll Need
- 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, particularly within aerospace or manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting ballooned prints and translating them into actionable inspection and control plans.
- Hands-on experience developing work instructions for inspection processes.
- Strong knowledge of inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and experience with CMMs (CMM programming experience is a plus).
- Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) is required.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively on-site.
- U.S. Citizenship may be required due to the nature of the work and background checks are standard.
$50 - $60 an hour
Mileage Compensation - $0.67 per mile driven to and from the supplier site on a daily basis
