We are seeking a Process Engineer to join one of our clients in a new role. This would be a full-time, six-month position (with the possibility of extension) in Duluth, MN, on the first shift. You should be familiar with Aircraft Assembly lines and have experience with system troubleshooting to be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and document nonconformances in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams identified in manufacturing, receiving inspection, and the field.
- Support creation of Supplier Discrepancy Reports when responsibility lies with the supplier.
- Assess and validate quality gates to ensure proper placement and functionality for each manufacturing stage.
- Confirm that processes align with standard manufacturing practices and client requirements.
- Monitor process indicators (e.g., yield, takt time, throughput) to evaluate performance during validation.
- Provide recommendations for corrective actions, process improvements, and risk mitigation.
- Work closely with client and supplier teams to support resolution of quality issues.
- Maintain and track corrective action follow-up plans, ensuring effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Document findings and prepare reports to communicate results, trends, and recommendations.
- Maintain an on-site presence Monday through Friday, following client direction and priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in hydraulic systems, electromechanical expertise, or composites.
- 3+ years of Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) or Quality Engineering experience, preferably with exposure to aerospace and automotive industries.
- Hands-on experience with production line validation, process audits, and quality gate verification.
- Strong knowledge of investigation tools, systems troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with process performance metrics (yield, takt time, throughput).
- Ability to interpret and apply manufacturing standards and quality requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional and supplier engagement.
$50 - $65 an hour
Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
Mileage reimbursement at the US government rate ($0.70 per mile driven). Untaxed.
