We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator to join our team in Duluth, MN for a 2nd shift, 6-month contract opportunity. Relocation assistance is available; however, no per diem is offered. Hotel, lodging, and meals will be covered.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in Polyworks software, be proficient in operating Faro Arm equipment, and have a strong command of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure the highest level of precision in inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct dimensional inspection of complex casted parts, hardware, and assemblies using precision inspection equipment such as a FARO ARM.
    • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) on critical components.
    • Utilize Polyworks software for accurate and reliable measurements.
    • Interpret complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements and validate commodity-specific assemblies.
    • Collaborate with internal quality team and address issues related to reproducibility.
    • Verify non-conformances (NCs) using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and thread gauges
    • Adhere to SQA/Client policies.

Required Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of hands-on inspection experience with FARO arm operation, precision machine and or mechanical parts
    • Working experience of operating a FARO ARM (I.E. Polyworks, etc.)
    • Knowledge and hands-on experience working with various inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.)
    • Experience with GD&T
    • Have experience in the operation and/or programming of photogrammetry inspection equipment, Portable Coordinate Measuring devices (Arms, trackers, sonar/radar, etc.) 
    • Be able to interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards
    • Ability to adapt to new technology and software.
    • Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • A degree in a technical discipline and extensive technical training and certification
    • Certification in inspection techniques or GD&T is a plus.
$38 - $41 an hour
Pay Range - $38 -41/hourly + mileage at $ 0.70 a mile
