The Controller will play a pivotal role in the financial management of StackAdapt, overseeing and directing the financial activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with the company's objectives. This key position requires a combination of financial expertise, leadership skills, and meticulous attention to detail. As the financial steward of StackAdapt, the Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing internal controls, and providing insightful analysis to guide decision-making, while fostering a culture of financial accountability within the organization.

In this dynamic role, the Controller will collaborate with various departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to drive financial success. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices, coupled with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner. The role requires adaptability to evolving business landscapes, technological advancements, and regulatory changes, making the Controller a key player in steering StackAdapt towards sustainable growth and financial excellence. StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada willing to work within EST time zone for this position.

What you'll be doing:

    • Ensure accurate and timely financial statement preparation for reporting to management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities
    • Guide the monthly financial statement close process by implementing an improved schedule of activities and review processes for all global entities
    • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
    • Lead and mentor a team of accounting and finance professionals, and supervise their day-to-day activities
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
    • Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's financial strategy
    • Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
    • Collaborate with other departments within finance and across the business
    • Support with ad hoc projects as part of the continuous growth and improvement of StackAdapt

What you’ll bring to the table:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA designation
    • Proven experience in a financial leadership role for a publicly traded company
    • Strong prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Solid knowledge and practical experience applying IFRS or US GAAP
