As a Federal Legislative Liaison you will advocate for Americans for Prosperity's positions to break down barriers that stand in the way of people realizing their full potential.

This specific position will predominantly serve Concerned Veterans for America (CVA), an organization that advocates for policies that will preserve the freedom and prosperity veterans and their families so proudly fought and sacrificed to defend. The CVA legislative liaison should have knowledge of and passion for issues affecting veterans and their communities including, but not limited to, foreign policy, veterans’ health care & benefits, and budget & appropriations.

How You Will Contribute

    • Leverage existing and develop new relationships with Federal Agencies and members of Congress to advance our priorities
    • Provide ongoing liaison and resource support services to members of Congress, coalition partners, volunteers and activists regarding political activities
    • Monitor, research and analyze federal legislative and regulatory trends that impact our policy initiatives. Track pending legislation and mitigate as needed
    • Work closely with our government affairs and policy teams in the development and analysis of information for advocacy documents, presentations, etc.
    • Contribute procedural and political landscape insight to our policy team for formulation of ongoing initiatives

What You Will Bring

    • Minimum of 5+ years of state and/or federal legislative experience
    • Existing relationships and credibility with members of Congress
    • Proven experience in development of government affairs strategies
    • Passion for and knowledge of issues affecting veterans and their communities including foreign policy, veteran health care, and enthusiasm for how veterans and military families can be effective messengers in support of policy changes that can benefit all Americans.
    • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, environment
    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Excited by and ready to contribute to our Culture
    • Standout candidates may also bring experience working in federal government to include but not limited to federal agencies, such as the Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs, and Congress.

    • For this position we anticipate paying between $110,000 - $150,000 per year. Actual amount may be higher or lower based on various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. Employees may be eligible to participate in our benefits programs which include medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts, life insurance, AD&D, disability, retirement, paid vacation, paid parental leave and educational assistance. Specific eligibility criteria are defined by the applicable Summary Plan Description, policy, or guideline.
