Manager of Data Platforms - Snowflake

Arlington, Virginia
Americans for Prosperity – Strategy & Business Operations /
Full-time /
On-site
Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is the premier grassroots organization focused on advocating solutions to the country’s greatest challenges. We recognize that tens of millions of Americans are frustrated with the extreme partisanship in government that keeps common-sense reforms from being passed, and instead seek to stand with policy leaders who are committed to finding a better way.

Americans for Prosperity is part of the Stand Together philanthropic community.

As a Manager of Data Platforms - Snowflake, on the Strategy and Innovation team, you will be the bridge between our most important data sources and the decisions that drive our work forward. You will own our Snowflake environment, ensure grassroots (i360) and internal data stays clean, connected, and useful, and help teams across the organization access the insights they need to deliver results.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, data governance, and platform architecture. If you're someone who can write SQL, spot a broken pipeline, explain complex datasets to non-technical stakeholders, and think two steps ahead on how today's requests affect tomorrow's reporting, you'll thrive here.

How You Will Contribute

    • Create and maintain business-critical views using data from i360, HR, Finance, Concur, and other systems
    • Act as Data Steward for AFP's grassroots data, define access rules, manage a data dictionary in Atlan, and ensure consistent documentation across sources
    • Prioritize requests, manage a data backlog with SLAs, and link grassroots data with internal data like HR, Finance, Concur, etc.
    • Help teams understand the structure and use of data, highlight downstream impacts, and advise on strategic integration opportunities
    • Ensure reporting outputs are accurate and trusted across business and community partners

What You Will Bring

    • Familiarity with data governance, access control, and metadata management (Atlan or similar)
    • Proficiency in SQL and cloud data platforms like Snowflake
    • Experience integrating data from varied sources (S3, HR reporting systems, finance tools)
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business-first mindset
    • Ability to clearly explain complex datasets and data implications to non-technical audiences
    • Experience managing project timelines and prioritizing competing data needs
    • Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together'svision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect

Standout Candidates Will Bring

    • i360 or similar grassroots data platform experience
    • Knowledge of data privacy and PII governance in a nonprofit or political context
    • Experience maintaining a data dictionary or taxonomy
    • Exposure to AI or advanced analytics platforms
    • PowerBi experience
    • Microsoft Power Automate & Power Platforms
