Product Manager, Empowered

Wichita, Kansas
Empowered – Empowered /
Full-time /
On-site
Empowered is a community of social entrepreneur teachers, bringing the experiential, individualized, self-discovery teaching methodology to life in their classrooms. Their work leads to transformative learning experiences for their students. At scale, the Empowered community is a cultural movement driving bottom-up change throughout the key institution of education.

Empowered is part of the Stand Together philanthropic community.

Our community is growing and so is the impact of our work to move toward a society where everyone could live a life of meaning and succeed by benefiting others. At Empowered, we advance this work by partnering with educators who are empowering students to realize their potential. There are several ‘cool’ brands in the sector focusing on teachers. However, we believe there is a ton of opportunity for an exciting brand, who deeply believes in educators for the change agents they are and wants to authentically invest in teachers at all grade levels, to catalyze teacher joy at scale. Empowered is that brand and we are looking for a Product Manager to help accelerate our capture of these opportunities.

We’re looking for a strategic, visionary, and customer-obsessed product leader to oversee the design and evolution of high-impact technology products. As a Product Manager, you will serve as an architect of innovation—bridging the gap between customer needs and organizational desire to become the platform of choice for educators. You’ll set clear goals, balance priorities, and steward products across their entire lifecycle, ensuring they deliver meaningful, long-term value for teachers.

This is a role for someone who thrives on complexity, excels at cross-functional collaboration, and is as comfortable in the details of product design as in boardroom strategy discussions. You will partner closely with engineering, design, marketing, operations, and analytics teams to ensure that Empowered’s products are visionary, usable, and scalable.

This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

How You Will Contribute

    • Lead Product Vision & Strategy
    • Define and communicate a bold, long-term vision for customer-facing technology products that helps fuel educators’ success with their students.
    • Establish clear, measurable strategies along with product roadmaps that balance innovation, feasibility, and impact.
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to anticipate trends and position products for sustained success.

    • Champion Customer-Centric Innovation
    • Develop deep insights into user needs through interviews, usability tests, and continuous feedback loops.
    • Serve as the voice of the customer in product decisions, ensuring empathy and advocacy drive product direction.
    • Create solutions that not only meet functional needs but also deliver joyful, empowering user experiences.

    • Execute with Excellence Across the Product Lifecycle
    • Oversee all stages of the product lifecycle, from ideation and design through launch and post-launch optimization.
    • Relentlessly strive for product-market fit (PMF) by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to track adoption, drive retention, and inform iterative improvements.
    • Maintain rigorous documentation, testing, and quality assurance practices to ensure product reliability.

    • Demonstrate Strategic & Analytical Leadership
    • Use data-driven insights to guide prioritization, trade-offs, and resource allocation.
    • Proactively identify risks and navigate ambiguity with flexibility and adaptability.
    • Balance short-term wins with long-term product growth and sustainability.

    • Model Leadership & Accountability
    • Act as the linchpin across engineering, design, marketing, and business teams, ensuring alignment and momentum
    • Inspire teams, through storytelling, influential presentations, and a shared sense of purpose, to push boundaries while fostering collaboration, trust, and innovation.
    • Take ownership of product success and failure, viewing both as opportunities for continuous learning.
    • Address conflicts constructively to ensure alignment and maintain forward momentum.

What You Will Bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, IT, or related field; experience considered in lieu of degree
    • 5+ years of product management experience
    • Proven success in defining product strategy, building roadmaps, and leading products from ideation through scale
    • Strong track record of customer-centric innovation, backed by qualitative and quantitative insights
    • Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills
    • Analytical mindset with deep experience in data-driven decision-making and KPI management
