The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid, 10-week experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers meaningful work experience at non-profits all over the country tackling some of our nation’s most pressing challenges. Throughout your internship with a partner organization, Stand Together Fellowships hosts virtual professional development sessions every Thursday from 1-5 pm ET, wherein you will be mentored by seasoned professionals as you craft a capstone project on the topic that matters most to you. Interns will receive either a $5,500 or $3,300 stipend from Stand Together Fellowships depending on whether they are participating full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (28 hours/week).
Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to apply in advance!
About National Taxpayers Union Foundation
National Taxpayers Union Foundation is a non-partisan research and education organization dedicated to showing Americans how taxes, government spending, and regulations affect them. Through data collection, analysis, and commentary, we empower citizens to engage in the critical policy debates of our time and hold elected officials accountable. To educate our target audiences, we perform incisive research and analysis on a wide range of policy issues with a particular focus on tax, technology, interstate commerce, legislative scoring, and trade. We also have a newly launched public interest litigation project that has extended our work into the judicial sphere.
About the Role
The Associate Policy Analyst Intern will assist with Foundation research and outreach activities related to budget and tax reform. Responsibilities include tracking and responding to policy proposals in the form of blog posts, issue briefs, and op-ed drafting.
Qualified candidates should have an interest in public policy, attention to detail, and analytical, research, and writing skills.
**Qualified candidates must submit a cover letter detailing their interest in the position and NTUF’s mission and may include this in the "Additional Information" field seen after clicking the "Apply for this Job" button.**
Candidates may also be asked to engage with NTUF's other projects, including:
- The Taxpayers Budget Office, which seeks to provide taxpayers with a more accurate budgetary scorekeeper that is less influenced by budget gimmicks
- The Interstate Commerce Initiative, where NTUF pushes back against the growing trend of states seeking to tax and regulate outside their borders, thereby disrupting interstate commerce, and
- The Free Trade Initiative, which aims to advocate for the lowering of trade barriers and to educate Americans about the benefits that trade provides to the economy.
