Job Title - Senior Construction Inspector
Location - South Florida Area
Job Type – Onsite

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector with water/pump station and/or roadway/bridge experience for the South Florida area.

What You Will Be Doing:

    • Perform highly complex technical assignments related to stormwater, pump stations, roadway and/or bridge construction.
    • Receive general instructions regarding assignments and is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of construction related work problems.
    • Direct and assign specific tasks to inspectors and assist in all phases of the CEI construction project.
    • Preparing reports and maintaining daily logs of inspections and reviewing any discrepancies with the proper parties.
    • Assures the quality of the contractor’s work.
    • Be responsible for verifying the progress and final estimates throughout the construction project duration.
    • Recognizes construction problems and communication with relevant team members to apply standard techniques and procedures to solve the problem.
    • Implement field changes to required drawings and specifications.
    • Making and check engineering computations.
    • Inspecting construction work and conducting field tests.
    • Be responsible for coordinating and managing a team of inspectors.
    • Maintain daily contact with contractors to discuss construction activities.
    • Attend construction meetings with client and contractors.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

    • High school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in roadway and/or bridge construction inspection, or
    • Civil Engineering degree and one (1) year of roadway and/or bridge construction experience.
    • Excellent visualization, communication, and documentation skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
    • Proven ability to distribute learned knowledge to project personnel, Inspectors and Material Testing Technicians.
    • Ability to assist Project Administrator and be able to fill this role temporarily in their absence.
    • Aptitude to act as a positive representative of the Stanley Consultants, Inc. core values and an active participation in an outside professional organization or internal Stanley committees (i.e., Group Safety Committee, MAC, etc.)

For Roadway/Bridge Candidates; Required Certifications or Ability to Obtain Certification Within One Year:

    • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
    • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
    • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
    • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
    • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
    • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
    • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
    • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
    • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection - Required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structure foundations
    • FDOT Intermediate MOT
    • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
    • Nuclear Radiation Safety
    • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification
    • Program for Inspectors and Contractors

For Water/Pump Station Candidates, a working knowledge of related electrical and mechanical systems is a plus.

Physical Demands:  The position requires the ability to work at and easily maneuver around construction sites in various weather conditions, lift and transport up to 50 lbs., and possibly climb ladders, scaffolding, trenches etc. Fear of heights or confined spaces could create a significant hardship.
Other:  This position may require some out of town work assignments. The position will require performing work throughout the state of Florida.  If so, per diem and housing arrangements will be provided by the company. Work hours of this position are not defined and will vary week to week as we are required to work at all times that the general contractor is on-site performing substantial work activities.

This position will be required to operate a company vehicle. prerequisite to operating a company vehicle is maintaining an acceptable driving record.

While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full-time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home. Eligible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule. Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off!
