About the Role
Starburst seeks a detail-oriented, creative, hardworking, and passionate Sr. Product Marketing Manager focused on competitive intelligence and GTM Strategy. In this role, you will work closely with product management, sales, marketing, and partner teams to dissect the competitive landscape, develop a deep understanding of competitive products and go-to-market strategies, and provide actionable strategies for our cross-functional teams to lead the markets in which we compete. You will also own the analyst relations program, building the strategy and cadence to engage the analyst community. For the Sr. PMM of GTM Strategy, we are looking for candidates with strategy, competitive intelligence, product marketing, or product management experience at an enterprise software company in the database or analytics space.
As a Senior Product Marketing Manager - Market Intelligence at Starburst, you will:
- Own our competitive intelligence program and serve as the internal expert on competitive and market dynamics.
- Develop actionable content and training for the sales, marketing, and product teams on our position in the market and how we win.
- Create compelling internal and external-facing assets that highlight the benefits and differentiation of Starburst.
- Track and share competitive market announcements on an ongoing basis
- Establish strong cross-functional relationships with internal and external SMEs to validate technical differentiation and distribute findings.
- Be available to sales and marketing teams to support competitive deals and campaigns.
- Own and manage the Starburst Analyst Relations program
- Conduct quarterly win/loss research in partnership with product

- Proven ability to understand and up-level technical concepts to focus on business value alongside features/functions
- Proactive, self-starter capable of independently running projects
- Empathetic team member who can lead cross-functional teams and projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in data platforms or analytics is a plus
- Startup experience is a plus
- Technical undergrad degree (e.g., computer science, engineering, data science) preferred but not required
- MBA or equivalent experience (e.g., management consulting) is nice to have
$135,000 - $160,000 a year
The base salary range for this US full-time position is $135,000 - $160,000, subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. All candidates receive equity (ISO) and access to a comprehensive benefits offering. The base salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for candidates across all US locations. Work location, skills, experience, and any relevant education or training determine the compensation awarded to the candidate.
