Role
Working as part of the Platform Team, this is a challenging but exciting opportunity for a senior developer to play an important part in developing key microservice based applications that are consumed by other product teams.
The candidate must have a good level of experience of working with and overseeing the development of complex, multi-tenanted, scalable applications/microservices in an Azure environment. Solid design and architecture experience is essential.
The candidate will work closely with a technical lead to ensure applications that are developed are of a high standard and fit for purpose.
Responsibilities
- Assist the technical lead in driving solutions to complex problems
- Build new and enhance existing microservices utilizing Azure PaaS services
- Improve and enhance DevSecOps processes (including infrastructure as code) resulting in robust CI/CD workflows
- Play a key role in all Agile (Scrum) ceremonies with particular input into backlog refinement and estimations
- Look for ways to help others, whether this be through mentoring, pair programming or other approach to knowledge sharing
Skills and experience
- Proficient with the Microsoft .NET platform and development environment including C#, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs, NHibernate (or Entity Framework) and Visual Studio
- A good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and Design
- Commercial experience of working on enterprise level applications
- A proven track record overseeing the development of large/complex projects
- Experience of relational database management systems (e.g.SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Experience of Azure, PaaS services and cloud-based applications
- Strong interpersonal skills, working with internal technical staff and stakeholders
- Practical experience of analysing requirements
- Ability to quickly learn new technical skills
- Coaching and mentoring
Desirable
- Experience of Agile & Scrum
- Experience defining, implementing or supporting software in financial services industry preferred
- Experience of Domain Driven Design (DDD)
