Job Overview:
We're seeking a visionary SaaS Engineering Leader to oversee our shared services/platform team and drive architectural initiatives across the organization. This pivotal role demands expertise in navigating complex enterprise landscapes, delivering best-in-class shared services, and strategically optimizing performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the shared services/platform team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions, guiding development teams with architectural blueprints and documentation.
- Architectural Transformation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement the architectural vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Define and implement the architectural vision, identifying opportunities for consolidation, streamlining processes, and standardizing patterns.
- Architect microservices-based solutions, overseeing their implementation and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Develop and maintain the organization's architectural roadmap in alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
- Governance:
- Establish rules, processes, and controls governing enterprise architecture, leading the Architecture Review Board and maintaining architectural assets.
- Ensure that architectural decisions support business and technology strategy, collaborating closely with the security team to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Effectively communicate architecture vision, strategies, and decisions to various stakeholders, acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation, experimentation, and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading shared services engineering teams within the B2B SaaS space.
- Deep knowledge of cloud computing platforms and modern architectural patterns.
- Demonstrated success in transforming monolithic systems into modern microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of microservices design patterns, identity protocols, and security considerations.
- Persuasive influencer capable of establishing meaningful relationships and being attuned to the pulse of ongoing projects
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, with a focus on B2B SaaS
