About the role:
We are looking for our first Designer, who will be appointed with the title of Lead Designer.
The role will involve all things Design: UI/UX, website design, graphics for sales and marketing, logo and brand design, and so on.
You will work directly with the Co-Founder to define and execute our roadmap, working on an existing brand style guide and improving our design philosophy.
You will get to leverage your skills across various design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Marvel, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to deliver world-class design across all elements of Unum ID. You should be a master of at least some of these tools, but others you can learn as needed on the job.
Your main goal will be to make experiences with Unum ID beautiful, seamless, and intuitive. You should have an excellent eye for user experience, with a focus on clean, sleek, simple, and intuitive messaging and graphics.
Knowledge/passion around security, distributed systems (incl. blockchain), and digital identity are seen as an advantage.
This is a fully-remote position, with bi-annual in-person retreats.

What makes you a good fit:
- 2+ years of experience in a UI/UX Design role.
- You get stuff done and make things happen. You're a self-starter that seeks out problems and opportunities and tackles them without prompting.
- You're skilled in a huge array of design tools and methods - including Marvel, Sketch, Illustrator, Webflow, etc.
- You're an incredibly fast learner and thrive in environments where you must rapidly adapt your skills to new problems.
- You have an incredible eye for design and a knack for creating intuitive, beautiful graphics, messaging, and user experiences.
- You’re an exceptional communicator. Clear, concise, persuasive writing (and ideally speaking).
- You're a seamless collaborator. You'll need to be easy to work with and willing to take things on as they come. We'll often need to rapidly create new content and materials for a specific initiative, and we'll need you to pivot quickly to take it on.
- You assess situations quickly and take action, including stopping initiatives and pivoting to a different one.
- You're exceptionally detail oriented and a perfectionist. You won't stop until something is exactly right.
- You’re fearless - willing and excited to put yourself out there and take on new initiatives, even if you have to learn new skills on the fly
It’s even better if…
- You think like an owner and understand what drives business. You understand incentives and can effortlessly frame things from the customer’s point of view.
- You have a background in or experience with startups, especially digital identity, FinTech or Crypto.
- You have a successful design history and a track record of creating world-class design that customers love.
Salary: $100-$200k per year, plus Stock Options.
Mandatory:
