Position Summary: The Senior Program Manager will join the IT Field Project Delivery Foundational department at PG&E on a contract hybrid basis. This role involves managing programs supporting projects within the IT Infrastructure and Cloud Services Portfolio. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality project delivery, meeting client expectations and organizational goals. The successful candidate will provide leadership, creative problem-solving, and effective communication while overseeing program management activities to achieve program metrics and objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide IT services encompassing planning, development, implementation, and support for systems solutions required for PG&E.
    • Utilize various tools and techniques for estimating project costs, including physical, financial, and human capital costs.
    • Lead the effort in creative problem-solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs.
    • Negotiate conflicts and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
    • Provide leadership and motivation to team members.
    • Establish comprehensive service level agreements and ensure project outcomes reflect organizational goals.
    • Ensure timely and effective communication regarding project initiatives to business partners and stakeholders.
    • Act as a liaison between the department team and the wider IT and business community, managing issue resolution.
    • Monitor program results against technical specifications and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
    • Develop and manage meaningful metrics to demonstrate team efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and governance processes.
    • Develop and manage department budgets, monitoring expenses and providing justification for variances.
    • Identify new partners, technologies, and delivery channels.
    • Communicate project status to all stakeholders.
    • Develop, oversee, and implement policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards to support business goals.
    • Foster strong working relationships with strategic programs and partners.
    • Champion infrastructure requirements necessary to execute the IT portfolio.
    • Manage contractors and vendors for efficient service delivery.

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • 8+ years of program management experience.
    • 2+ years implementing infrastructure projects.
    • SAFe RTE, Scrum Master, or PMI PMP Certification.
    • Full understanding of Program, Product, and Project Management activities in Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
    • Full understanding of PI planning, ART execution, SAFe framework, Value Streams, Scrum, and Kanban.
    • Ability to develop templates, roadmaps, reports, metrics, and necessary documents.
    • Experience measuring and reporting on program success.
    • Experience with enterprise IT projects and programs, particularly in infrastructure and networking.
    • Experience with networking technologies.
