The Role: IT Business Analyst Leader

The IT Business Analyst Leader role within PG&E's IT Electric Operations department is a pivotal position responsible for supporting the Service Planning & Design (SP&D) functional area.

Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with SP&D business stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and challenges.
    • Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify opportunities for improvement, particularly in the realm of estimating and new business initiatives.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and solutions.
    • Support the development and implementation of technology projects, ensuring alignment with SP&D objectives and priorities.
    • Provide subject matter expertise in estimating methodologies and tools, offering insights and recommendations to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
    • Act as a key point of contact for SP&D employees and contractor workforce, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and facilitating training as needed.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electric distribution work management.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to enhance and optimize estimating tools such as EES, O-Calc, and Smart Connect.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes, workflows, and systems to drive operational excellence.
    • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

    • 5+ years relevant consulting and/or industry and functional experience
    • Prior experience or strong familiarity with estimating processes and methodologies.
    • Experience with Electric distribution work management.
    • Experience working with estimating tools, with preference given to candidates proficient in EES.
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects on time and within budget.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    • Prior experience as a Job Owner or clerk in the utility or energy sector would be a plus.
