Position Overview:
We are seeking a Software Development Manager to join their team in Annapolis Junction, MD. As a Software Development Manager, you will oversee the development and deployment of complex software systems, ensuring adherence to software development best practices and methodologies. You will play a crucial role in coordinating development efforts, managing release cycles, and ensuring all functional requirements are met.
Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage software development releases, including documenting and executing release checklists and deployment procedures.
- Coordinate the development of complex software systems, tracking in-progress work, coordinating testing of features and bug fixes, and verifying all functional requirements are complete.
- Utilize issue tracking tools, particularly Jira, to manage and monitor project progress effectively.
- Ensure adherence to software development principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, adapting quickly to changing project requirements.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the software development team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with 7+ years of experience.
- Experience managing software development releases and deployment procedures.
- Proven track record in coordinating the development of complex software systems, managing testing phases, and ensuring all functional requirements are met.
- Proficiency with issue tracking tools, particularly Jira, to manage project progress effectively.
- Solid understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Knowledge of Linux and Unix systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph required.
