Director of Finance

The Director of Finance will be responsible for corporate financial record-keeping systems and processes as developed by our external CPA firm, with the expectation that these will brought in-house at a suitable time.  Due to the complexity of our blockchain technology and cryptocurrency finances, we anticipate the Director of Finance will need to proactively gain new skills and knowledge to be successful in this role. The Director of Finance will also be tasked with supporting leadership with financial report products that support operations and decision-making. As the organization grows, Mergers and Acquisitions duties may be required, including but not limited to due diligence, research and analysis.  

Critical Duties:
Provide strategic leadership as we develop systems, reports and processes to support consolidated financials, cryptocurrency assets, and our transaction activity.
Build the financial function internally, while working with our CPA firms to establish and manage our corporate financial record-keeping systems and processes.
Manage external tax advisers and ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.
Develop and proactively drive scalable managerial finance processes and dashboards to support operations and management decision-making.
Develop, proactively drive and manage processes for revenue, expense and taxation forecasting to support the health of our business. Budgeting and cash flow forecasting will be vital.
Create and proactively drive the communication and process for monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.

Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned):
Manage insurance, legal and supplier relationships.
Budgeting management including various reporting.
Monitor/manage vendors and vendor relationships.

7+ years in corporate and managerial finance roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
7+ years developing and driving financial dashboards and models.
Prior experience with ERP implementations.
Strong familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Concur, Quickbooks.)
Experience with consolidated financials and subsidiaries.
Exceptional analytical skills with ability to learn, influence and communicate managerial and corporate finance requirements.
Strong quantitative skills with Excel.
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Finance, Accounting or related business degree.
CPA is highly desirable.
Mergers and acquisition experience highly desirable.
Experience designing, developing and proactively driving internal financial processes to support a growing business.
Experience with blockchain companies is a plus.
