SteerBridge Strategies, LLC is seeking an experienced Claims Workflow Specialist (CWS) to support Modern Disability Claims program for the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). The CWS plays a vital role in the end-to-end development, adjudication, and quality assurance of Veterans' disability claims. This position involves reviewing, analyzing, and developing claims to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. The CWS also serves as a critical Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) element in support of claims process automation, providing expert oversight to validate system-generated outputs and ensure appropriate escalation of complex or ambiguous cases.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Claims Review & Development: Evaluate Veterans' and Survivor benefits claims and supporting evidence for completeness and eligibility. Identify evidence gaps and gather relevant documentation from internal and external sources, including medical records and military service files.
- Decision Drafting: Prepare well-reasoned, regulation-compliant decisions with clear justifications. Ensure quality and consistency with VA standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a point of contact for Veterans and their representatives. Provide clear, empathetic updates and explanations of decisions.
- Human-in-the-Loop Automation: Act as a quality checkpoint within automated workflows by validating data, handling exceptions, and providing feedback to improve automation rules and reliability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Apply federal law, VA policy, and procedural guidance to ensure accurate adjudication. Stay informed on regulatory updates and system changes.
- Case & Data Management: Maintain accurate records in Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS) and other applicable systems. Track deadlines and ensure privacy (e.g. PII/PHI) and security standards are adhered to.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement: Meet quality and timeliness standards by adhering to performance metrics and deadlines. Actively participate in audits, workflow reviews, and training efforts to drive process improvements and share best practices.
$140,000 - $145,000 a year
A salary commensurate with experience will be offered.
