About the role:
As the Global Accounting Manager at Storio Group, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Accounting with various internal and external reporting requirements, ensuring deliverables are met on time and with high quality.

In this 6-month you will oversee and lead the group's month-end and year-end close processes, and manage the global revenue reconciliation process. Working closely with accounting teams across different locations, you will develop and implement tactical plans that significantly impact team success and operational efficiency.

Your daily adventure at Storio:

    • Oversee and lead the group's month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Work closely with Brand FP&A teams and accounting teams to ensure the accuracy of monthly results.
    • Develop and implement short-term tactical plans and daily operations, setting objectives that significantly impact team success.
    • Ensure COGNOS (our consolidation solution) accurately reflects information from entity ERP systems.
    • Take control of the global revenue reconciliation process, working with local accountants to ensure revenue is reconciled and reported correctly each month.
    • Identify opportunities for optimization and assess complex issues.
    • Review and document accounting processes across the group, analyzing and recommending improvements to optimize the use of our group ERP solution.
    • Support the Director of Accounting in managing the requirements of local accounting teams based in our offices in the UK and Europe, including:
    • - General Ledger Accounting; Purchase Ledger; Fixed Assets, including capitalizing internal development costs; Cash Management, including cash flow forecasting; Working Capital Management; Direct & Indirect Tax Compliance (liaising with the Group Tax Manager and outsourced compliance teams where appropriate); Monthly Management Reporting; Annual Statutory Account Preparation; Audit.
    • Support the migration to Oracle, our chosen group ERP solution.
    • Make an active contribution to the further professionalization of Finance and the Accounting teams.
    • Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls over the month-end and year-end process.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change in the accounting team.

How you make your mark:

    • Lead the effective optimization of accounting processes, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
    • Drive the successful implementation and utilization of our group ERP solution, supporting our strategic finance initiatives.
    • Develop and document robust internal controls and business processes to support the month-end and year-end close processes.

What you bring to the party:

    • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 7 years post-qualification relevant work experience, preferably in accountancy or audit within a large SME or a small multinational.
    • Experience consolidating financial information for multiple locations throughout Europe.
    • Proficiency in using accounting and related systems, preferably Oracle Fusion.
    • Extensive accounting and reporting knowledge, with a strong understanding of IFRS.
    • Strong conceptual thinking and analytical skills.
    • Ability to maintain an overview and set the right priorities in a fast-moving environment.
    • Hands-on, socially skilled, and able to engage and convince people.
    • Curious, result-driven, and proactive in identifying and implementing improvements.
    • Good written and spoken communication skills in English.

Extra Kudos for Experience:

    • Fluency in German, French, or Spanish.
    • Experience working in a multi-European office setting, optimizing accounting processes to meet local regulations and legislation.
    • Strong project planning and implementation skills, with a track record of managing cross-functional projects.
