Overview:The Technical Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering functions at the plant facility. He/she leads a team of skilled technicians and engineers, and will be responsible for ensuring that all plant equipment is functioning at optimal levels. 
The Technical Manager will be responsible for managing both the maintenance and engineering teams at the plant, ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Technical Manager will have a deep understanding of technical processes and systems, and be able to implement improvements to drive continuous improvement in plant performance. Additionally, the Technical Manager will be responsible for Capex planning and management as well as Asset Health management and team management.

Responsibilities

    • Oversee the maintenance and engineering teams at the Paterna plant, ensuring tasks are assigned effectively, guidance is provided, and adherence to procedures is maintained to achieve productive outcomes. 
    • Supervise the technical team, including assigning work, providing onboarding and guidance to new team members, mentoring on task execution, and monitoring task completion and quality according to established standards. 
    • Provide regular guidance and feedback on task performance to team members, ensuring work meets required operational standards and follows established procedures. 
    • Foster a focus on continuous improvement in task execution and adherence to procedures, encouraging ideas that enhance plant performance within established operational guidelines. 
    • Work closely with the production team to address technical issues by assigning appropriate personnel and providing guidance for timely and efficient resolution according to established operational protocols. 
    • Ensure the team adheres to all health and safety regulations and that all staff are instructed on safe and efficient work practices and procedures. 
    • Collaborate with other departments, including operations, quality, and safety, by assigning responsibilities and ensuring coordinated execution of tasks according to plant procedures to achieve overall plant operational objectives. 
    • Oversee the execution of the capex budget for maintenance and engineering functions, ensuring tasks are completed according to timelines and within allocated resources, adhering to financial procedures. 
    • Maintain a working relationship with the Storio Group engineering team from other plants or corporate roles to ensure alignment on technical procedures and operational standards.

Engineering

    • Support the implementation and maintenance of Engineering processes and systems to ensure optimal plant performance, including assigning tasks related to digital engineering, reliability engineering, and process engineering according to established operational workflows. 
    • Oversee the execution of Capex plans and the utilization of the budget to ensure that investments in plant and equipment are carried out to support long-term growth and efficiency goals, ensuring adherence to financial procedures. 
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives by assigning tasks and providing guidance to increase efficiency and reduce downtime within existing operational frameworks.

Maintenance

    • Maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of parts and equipment required for assigned maintenance tasks according to operational needs. 
    • Support the implementation of maintenance strategies by assigning specific tasks and providing guidance to optimize plant performance and reduce downtime according to established maintenance schedules and operational procedures. 
    • Oversee the asset health of all equipment, ensuring that preventative and corrective maintenance tasks are assigned and completed in a timely and effective manner according to maintenance operational protocols. 
    • Ensure that all equipment and machinery is well-maintained, serviced, and operated according to manufacturer guidelines and company policies by assigning and verifying completion of relevant operational tasks.

Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
    • At least 7 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
    • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment and maintenance practices.
    • Proven experience managing capex budgets, and leading large-scale projects.
    • Experience with Asset Management Systems and related software tools.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on root-cause analysis and corrective action.
