About the role
For our Munich factory we are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer with global knowledge of networking (Cisco, Fortinet), server infrastructures (VMWare) and good analytical skills to be able to handle incidents and quickly get to the root cause to join the Infrastructure Engineering team. Within this team you will be responsible for the Network (Firewalls, Switches, Wifi), Servers and Storage infrastructure as well as monitoring and software used to manage the infrastructure on a global scale. We have locations in Germany, The Netherlands, UK, France, Spain and Norway and the Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for all of these locations. You will work together with your team members who are located in the various locations and as a team we deliver highly available and scalable infrastructure for the group. You will be based in the Munich factory (hybrid working model), but will work on projects in any of our locations. Making use of Agile/Scrum methodologies, we aim to deliver fast and maintain focus on what is important to us and to the business. 

Primary Responsibilities

    • Designing, implementing and maintaining network infrastructure (Firewall, Switches etc)
    • Implementing and maintaining Virtual Server Environments (VMWare)
    • Implementing and maintaining scalable storage solutions
    • Proactive monitoring of the key services and addressing alerts in a correct/timely manner
    • Patch management and ensuring security vulnerabilities are mitigated in line with the approved patching strategy. 
    • Performing disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure business continuity
    • Serving as a point of escalation for complex support queries that may arise from other engineering teams
    • Engaging with issues to solve them in a timely manner using your analytical skills

Impact and Contributions

    • Ensuring smooth running of network services across Storio group
    • Responsibility for the Network (Firewalls, Switches, Wifi), Servers and Storage infrastructure as well as monitoring and software used to manage the infrastructure on a global scale.

Experience and Attributes we'd like to see

    • A strong understanding of Network Infrastructure (Firewalls, Switching, Wifi).
    • Good knowledge of Windows Server configuration and maintenance
    • Good understanding of Storage Area Networks
    • Good problem solving skills.
    • Exposure to NetApp and Veeam technologies will be beneficial
    • Knowledge of Fortinet products is a preferable
    • Experience managing and maintaining Highly Available environments
    • Self motivated and able to learn new tech whilst maintaining a high standard of delivery.
    • You have a get it done attitude, while keeping in mind the impact of changes
    • Great experience in highly available and complex network/server environments
    • Experience with Cloud computing (AWS)Familiar with security updates/patching techniques.
    • Great analytical skills
