Essential Job Functions:
Strategic marketer: Responsible for understanding target audiences and market dynamics to formulate value propositions and develop the ideas and insights that fuel effective strategy and campaigns. Must have a deep appreciation of B2B marketing principles and an ability to translate objectives into specific marketing strategies and tactics and oversee successful execution.    

This Director will oversee multiple marketing specialties. Candidates should have a robust foundation of knowledge and experience to manage across all key marketing sub-disciplines.  Here are some specific examples of how this role will help drive demand generation and direct integrated marketing across digital, social, email, and conference activity to effectively grow brand awareness and help us secure new partners and funders to grow our impact:

▪️ Ensure effective digital marketing activity and campaigns, including paid ads, SEO, SEM, our website, social media, lead scoring, and email nurture programs. 

▪️ Strengthen our brand presence at higher education and workforce conference events.  Collaborate closely with Partner Success (Sales) and other market-facing teams to ensure events help us raise our profile and identify new opportunities. 

Team management: Directly manage a portion of the 11-member marketing team, fostering a culture of marketing excellence and a drive to outcomes. Promote seamless partnership across the extended marketing team, reinforcing collaboration and community.  

Nonprofit leader:  We are seeking a Director who believes every student deserves a coach and is motivated to use marketing to ignite this dream into a social change reality. The right candidate is energized to be creative and resourceful with nonprofit budgets.  

Responsible for reporting and analyzing marketing performance metrics, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize strategies and tactics.  Business responsibilities include budgeting and cross-functional collaboration with teams from Sales, Operations, Solutions and Finance to ensure integrated efforts.

Qualifications: an ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

    • Minimum 10 years of professional marketing experience, including at least 3 years in a B2B marketing role. Preference for nonprofit experience or experience in the field of post-secondary education or workforce development
    • Demonstrated experience managing a team to deliver KPIs is required
    • Proficiency in all key digital tools for social media management, content creation and analytics, including GA4. Proficiency with marketing CRMs (i.e. Hubspot) and project management platforms (i.e. Wrike or ClickUp). Familiarity with Google suite 
    • Expertise with current online marketing techniques and best practices
    • Excellent leadership and organizing skills.  Must have superior project management skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines
    • Clear and proactive communication skills – verbal and written 
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to coach and motivate others. Must be able to build consensus and to counsel senior management
    • Passionate about the value of data and analytics
    • Willingness to be an independent contributor, ready to roll-up your sleeves and jump into anything
    • Comfort in a fully virtual, remote-first work environment

Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in marketing
$120,000 - $130,000 a year
Compensation will depend on skills and experience
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires travel approximately 5% of time to attend business meetings with a potential for occasional overnight travel, as well.  

TYPICAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS: 
Requires prolonged sitting with some bending, stooping and stretching; eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator and other office equipment.  Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.   Also requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity and/or need to meet deadlines, and flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.
