Director of Marketing

Washington, DC
CredLens – Marketing /
Full-time /
Hybrid
We’re looking for our inaugural Marketing Director to own product marketing, including positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution for our platform. Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, you’ll focus on how we talk about our platform—internally and externally—and in collaboration across the organization, establish the foundation for how CredLens shows up in the market. This is a strategic, high-impact role with the opportunity to shape both company narrative and market penetration at scale.

About CredLens
CredLens, launched in 2024 as the newest subsidiary of Strada Education Foundation, is a national data trust focused on delivering verified outcomes insights for non-degree credentials. We help a range of organizations, such as credential issuers, funders, and policymakers, address the critical data gaps that prevent them from fully marketing and scaling their impact. CredLens is actively delivering outcomes insights to its stakeholders via enterprise-grade dashboards and visualizations and is the best-in-class solution to power ongoing research for industry-based, professional, and workforce credentials.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Marketing Director is a high-impact role at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Customer Success, responsible for driving the go-to-market strategy for the CredLens platform, crafting foundational messaging, and ensuring sales and customer success teams are enabled with the content they need to succeed. This is a highly collaborative role, and you will be an essential partner in unifying our marketing and communications efforts. We may be a mission-driven non-profit, but we operate like a fast-paced startup with aggressive goals and targets, and this role will be central to our success.

Product Marketing Strategy

    • Drive the end-to-end platform marketing strategy for the CredLens platform and its solutions.
    • In collaboration with the broader org, define core product messaging, positioning, and value propositions for each of our customer segments, such as credential issuers, community colleges, states, and funders.
    • Collaborate, shape, and execute the strategy and tactics for all product updates.
    • Work closely with the Product and Build teams to understand roadmap priorities and with Engagement to establish go-to-market needs and timing.

Sales Enablement & Customer Retention

    • Create content for briefs, one-pagers, case studies, use cases, pitch decks, website, and materials that support client engagement and retention for our Engagement and Customer Success teams.
    • Partner with Communications to ensure all outreach is coordinated and that master lists for audiences, contacts, and media are managed collaboratively.
    • Create foundational content for both internal and external use, collaborating with Design, Product, and Sales and Customer Success to produce high-quality assets.
    • Own the voice of the customer, using interviews, resource calls, and sales funnel analysis to continuously refine messaging.

Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree welcome.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in product or related marketing, with some background in higher education, credentialing and/or SaaS.
    • Experience working on complex, developing products in fast-paced, high-context environments and deep experience with a range of content outputs.
    • Prior experience building a marketing function or operating as a team of one-ish is nice, but not required.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce is a strong plus.
    • Some Communications background would be an asset.
    • Experience with Webflow is helpful.
$100,000 - $130,000 a year
Plus an annual bonus (not included in the range stated above).

The pay range listed is based on national compensation benchmark data and may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, variations in cost of labor, and in some cases, geographic location.  The exact job offer will be determined based on several factors such as the candidate’s individual skills, qualifications and experience relative to the requirements of the role.  The range displayed with the job posting represents the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across the U.S.

The company also reviews and considers internal equity (current employee salary) when hiring new employees to the organization.  The range is the expected starting base salary for someone hired into this position with room to grow professionally, including increased earning potential beyond the starting pay range.  Beyond a new hire’s base salary, Strada also offers all full-time employees a comprehensive employee benefit package.
