We are seeking a hands-on, Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join Subspace Labs as a key member of our Leadership Team.
Subspace Labs is an early-stage, venture-backed startup pioneering a new category at the intersection of AI and Web3. With our upcoming mainnet launch, the Subspace Network is a radically decentralized, next-generation layer one blockchain powered by an innovative proof-of-archival storage (PoAS) consensus mechanism. Our project serves as a foundation for global collaboration between humans and AI, ushering in a new era of possibilities. The COO will play a pivotal role in harnessing the transformative power of AI to drive operational excellence and strategic growth. Reporting directly to our CEO and as a key member of our executive team, the COO will drive initiatives to leverage AI technologies across all facets of our business operations. As an early stage startup, we expect this person to lean into creating individual impact , while also fostering a cohesive team culture of innovation and collaboration, ultimately shaping the trajectory of our company's journey towards unprecedented success.
This position requires a deep understanding of the Web3 and AI landscapes, a strong business acumen, and a proven track record of driving innovation in dynamic, startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Vision: In close partnership with the CEO, lead the strategic planning and execution that aligns with our mission to revolutionize the intersection of AI and Web3. Your role involves being a key decision-maker, shaping the future of our operations and strategic growth.
- Management of Leadership Team: Cultivate a cohesive, innovative leadership team that thrives on collaboration and excellence. Your leadership will ensure that department leads are aligned, motivated, and focused on our collective goals, driving the company towards its strategic objectives.
- Operational Excellence through AI: Oversee the integration of AI technologies into our operations, optimizing processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and impact. Your vision will ensure that AI is not just a tool but a core pillar of our operational strategy.
- Culture and Innovation: Foster an AI-centric culture that promotes collaboration, continuous improvement, and excellence across all departments. Working with the Head of People, you’ll ensure our team is empowered and aligned with our innovative mission.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key AI technology providers, research institutions, and industry leaders, ensuring Subspace stays ahead in AI innovation and implementation.
- Leadership and Advocacy: Act as a leading voice for Subspace Labs in the broader AI and Web3 communities, representing our innovative projects and advancements at public events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in management-level roles within the tech industry.
- A minimum of 2 years at any early-stage startup company, preferably in the AI or web3 spaces.
- Proven track record of success in scaling operations and driving organizational growth in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of the blockchain, AI, and digital identity landscapes.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.
