Job Description: As a Security/Watchman at TownePlace Suites Atlanta Buckhead, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property during your assigned overnight shifts. The Security/Watchman plays a critical role in maintaining a secure and comfortable environment, preventing unauthorized access, and responding effectively to emergencies. This position requires a keen sense of observation, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle various security-related tasks in a professional manner.

 

Qualifications:

-Previous experience in security or a related field preferred.

-Knowledge of security protocols and procedures.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.

-Physical fitness and the ability to perform regular patrols.

-Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.

Working Conditions:

-This position is for an overnight shift and may also include weekends, and holidays.

-The Security/Watchman may be required to stand or walk for extended periods.

-The role involves both indoor and outdoor responsibilities, regardless of weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

Property Surveillance:

Monitor surveillance cameras to ensure the security of the hotel premises.

Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior areas to detect and deter suspicious activities.

Access Control:

Verify the identity of individuals entering the hotel and ensure they have proper authorization.

Control access to restricted areas and maintain a log of visitors.

Emergency Response:

Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, and emergencies.

Coordinate with local authorities and hotel management in case of incidents.

Guest and Staff Assistance:

Assist guests and staff with security-related concerns and inquiries.

Provide a visible and approachable presence to enhance the sense of security.

Incident Reporting:

Document all security-related incidents and prepare detailed reports.

Communicate incidents and observations to the Director of Security and other relevant personnel.

Safety Compliance:

Enforce hotel safety and security policies and procedures.

Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.

Equipment Maintenance:

Ensure the proper functioning of security equipment, such as surveillance cameras and alarms.

Report any malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Light work – exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
