Who we're looking for: We are looking for a Senior Vice President of Finance to lead the strategic direction of Sundays For Dogs. The SVP of Finance will sit on the leadership team and directly report to the CEO. In this role, you will lead the finance function and be responsible for creating and driving financial processes, policies, controls, systems and reporting that ensures all objectives are met in support of the company’s business. You will manage the company’s operating model, top-line forecasts, drive ongoing insights about our business, and deliver financial reports to the executive team as well as the board of directors. Ultimately, your work will enhance our internal decision-making, particularly as it relates to resource allocation. If you're looking to have full ownership and responsibility for all financial planning, analysis and reporting processes then this is the role for you.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Implement and lead monthly financial meetings with the leadership team to review budget v. actuals on all key expenses, capital expenditures and fixed asset lines
- Lead and be responsible for business forecasting + scenario analysis
- Establish a formal budget setting process and lead the company through the annualized processImplement best practices to create visibility and accountability across the organization that inform all expense and investment decisions
- Prepare monthly and quarterly external reporting for actual v budget along with appropriate KPI’s for all major line items
- Prepare monthly and quarterly external reporting packages to be provided to the company’s bank and ownership groups
- Partner with the Senior Leadership team to formulate strategic plans and ensure financial considerations are integrated into strategic decision-making
- Oversee and lead outsourced Accounting team to formalize and streamline the company’s monthly, quarterly and annual close and reporting process
- Partner with function leads to analyze and improve expense performance / ROI
- Manage, Mentor, and help develop a finance team capable of supporting rapid growth
- Conduct appropriate ad hoc analyses and financial modeling as necessary to support key business decisions
- Manage the financials in a way to set the company up for a number of potential exits, including but not limited to, cash management to profitability
Experience (preferred):
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Proven track record of hiring, leading and retaining a high performing finance team
- Proven track record of partnering with cross-functional leaders including marketing, supply chain and e-commerce
- Minimum 8+ years of Finance and FP&A experienceExperience leading finance in a CPG or e-commerce business is required
- Experience with equity/debt fundraising is a must have!
- Experience with financial analyses and strategic recommendations to the executive team and Board members
- Must be comfortable being in the weeds and building models
- Experience with an ERP implementation is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead & work efficiently in a fast-paced and remote environment
- High Emotional Intelligence as a leader and mentor is ideal
- Understands manufacturing & perishable ingredients is a plus!
- Experience working remotely with Slack, Asana and Notion
- And of course, a love for dogs!
