We are on a mission to unlock Solar's full potential by revolutionizing how solar cells are made, to unlock new heights of efficiency, cost, and sustainability.
Founded in 2015 by two UNSW roommates (Vince Allen - a PhD student in solar and David Hu – a former investment banker), we have come a long way from the breakthrough made in their garage to producing the world’s most efficient commercial-sized solar cell.
In 2022, we secured $21 million in our Series A funding round, and are backed by some of Australia’s top venture capital firms (Blackbird, Main Sequence, Virescent, and Mike Cannon-Brooke’s private investment fund, Grok), tech founders, a former Australian Prime Minister, and the Australian Government.
As our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you will shape our financial strategy, drive SunDrive's growth and work collaboratively with executive leadership to execute on our journey to commercialization.
You will focus on:
- Crafting and executing Sundrive's business strategy, driving growth and resilience through meticulous planning and resource optimization.
- Getting your hands dirty in fundraising efforts, from strategic partnerships to securing our next funding round, with a boots-on-the-ground approach.
- Providing actionable financial insights that empower our teams to make informed decisions and drive operational excellence.
- Cultivating a culture of accountability and execution within the wider business, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
We would love you to have:
- A substantial and superb track record of hands-on leadership in fast-paced financial environments.
- CA/CPA qualification complemented by real-world experience across diverse industries, ideally, manufacturing / solar / renewable energy.
- Rounded experience in successful, early through to late-stage funding rounds.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting, translating data into actionable strategies that move the needle.
- Strong leadership skills with a knack for developing talent and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- A commitment to integrity, compliance, and transparency, ensuring our financial foundation is rock-solid as we chart our course forward.
