Sunnova Energy is seeking a Manager of Hedging & Insurance to lead the development and implementation of our organization's hedging strategy, as well as the management and optimization of insurance policies. This role will also be responsible for managing insurance claims and ensuring compliance with insurance requirements. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the Manager will play a key role in mitigating financial risks and protecting the company's assets and interests.

Responsibilities

    • Hedging Strategy Development and Implementation:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive hedging strategy to manage financial risks associated with energy market volatility, currency fluctuations, interest rate changes, and other relevant factors.
    • Monitor market conditions, assess risk exposures, and execute hedging transactions to minimize adverse impacts on financial performance.
    • Insurance Policy Management:
    • Evaluate, select, and manage insurance policies to adequately cover the organization's assets, liabilities, and operations, including property insurance, casualty insurance, liability insurance, and other relevant policies.
    • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with insurance providers to optimize coverage and cost-effectiveness.
    • Insurance Claims Management:
    • Manage the end-to-end process of insurance claims, including filing claims, coordinating with insurance adjusters, providing necessary documentation, and negotiating settlements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate resolution of insurance claims, minimizing financial losses and disruptions to business operations.

Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in financial risk management, hedging, insurance, or related roles.
    • Strong understanding of financial markets, hedging instruments, insurance products, and risk management principles.
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing hedging strategies and managing insurance portfolios.
    • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess risk exposures, evaluate insurance coverage, and analyze insurance claims.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in finance, risk management, or related field.
    • Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, or ARM.
    • Previous experience in the energy industry or related sectors.
    • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools.
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
