Job Summary:
This is a full-time, 9-month position reporting directly to the Plant Controller. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, a quick learner, and able to stay focused while multi-tasking in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Position responsibilities:
- Record, administer and review time and attendance adjustments for both hourly and salary employees, including follow-up of timesheet exceptions, and entry into the payroll system (Ceridian Dayforce).
- Entry of hourly employee vacation time and sick calls in Dayforce.
- Monitor absenteeism and process payroll adjustments as appropriate.
- Prepare various payroll reports on a daily, weekly and bi-weekly basis.
- Track and reconcile temporary worker hours and invoices.
- Maintain organized filing of documents
- Attend to visitors, provide necessary PPE for plant visits.
- Answer incoming calls from suppliers/employees, forward to the appropriate extensions.
- Pick up mail from mailbox and distribute.
- Manage office supplies orders (Staples), printers and kitchen supplies.
- Troubleshoot printers.
- Prepare and send intercompany mail.
- Provide basic IT trouble shooting support in coordination with Head Office IT
- Act as back up for other team members.
- Assist on project work as assigned.
- Other payroll and administrative duties as required.
Required Skills and Education:
- Minimum 2 years previous experience in a payroll and administrative position
- Post secondary education required
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of software applications such as MS Office (Excel).
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment with a variety of disciplines to maintain and foster good working relationships
- Good interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy to hand a variety of work situations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong sense of teamwork
- Aptitude to act proactively, requiring minimum direction
- Capable of problem solving within predetermined guidelines
- Ability to deal with fast-paced work environment with multiple demands
$26.50 - $27.50 an hour
