Reporting to the VP of Sales for GHX, the Gasket & Sealing Product Manager will drive growth within the organization by developing, promoting sealing products, services, and solutions for the Fluid Conveyance SBU’s and all joining forces companies and within SunSource. Working together with the existing sales force in GHX, McCarty, Amazon, and Stuart Hose. Essentially exhibiting and developing into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in multiple technologies and product lines within our core competencies. Responsibilities, as it relates to sealing applications and technical support, include customer joint-calls, technical training and developing Account Managers product knowledge, cooperative oversight and management of supplier relationships, coordinating with Operations, Materials Management, Sales, and Customer Representatives, as needed to promote and grow gasket and sealing sales.  

Duties and Responsibilities

    • Cultivate and build Customer and Sales team relationships by making joint calls as SME in adjacent technologies to GHX.
    • Partner with Regional, District and Market Sales Leaders to identify opportunities, target accounts, strategies and then drive and support cross-selling initiatives across the company.
    • Establish relationships with all key contacts and relevant locations across the SunSource Enterprise.
    • Measure and Evaluate Cross-Selling performance by Market, Region, and Account Manager, then recommend strategies for performance improvements.
    • Provide consistent and timely information to Management and employees through various communication programs, including weekly and monthly sales reports and calls.
    • Support Enterprise Team Members in growing their cross-selling sales among established key and target accounts in their territories as it relates to Gasket & Sealing products.
    • Collaborate with Management to create and implement an internal marketing plan to promote commercial insights, tools, training, and resources to enhance sales productivity, including industry overviews, success stories, digital tools, product deep-dives, Sales blitzes and specific sales calls dedicated to the Industrial Markets across North America
    • Provide Technical and Commercial support to the sales force.
    • Participate in Joint Calls with team members as needed. Targeting 8 per week. 
    • Schedule, Lead, and coordinate Regional Sealing product Blitz events.
    • Coordinate help and support with available resources in the SunSource Organization.
    • Keep track of all sealing product revenue by Market, Region, and Account Manager via reporting tools. Share and discuss results with business leaders.
    • Participate in weekly cadence calls with company Sales Leaders on applicable products.
    • Work with the Marketing team in creating literature as required supporting efforts. Employ integrated and multi-channel approach across traditional print collateral and sell sheets, video, social media, physical trade shows, and industry events.
    • Participate in applicable supplier relationship management, and promotion of products to grow sales.
    • Evaluate and vet potential new suppliers of adjacent or complimentary products and propose these to Materials Management and Sales leadership.
    • Providing recommendations on inventory parts and stock levels required; management as needed.

Competencies

    • Familiar with various types of Metallic, Semi-metallic, and Sheet gasket products from different Manufacturers 
    • Ability to identify and differentiate the benefits of various Sealing materials and products from competing Manufacturers
    • Familiar with fastener (bolting) materials common in the Petrochemical industry and their properties 
    • Heat Exchanger and Pressure Vessels Gasketing Applications, including Code calculations.
    • Practical Experience In Applications to include use of technical drawings, materials specifications, and installation 
    • Knowledge of ASME PCC-1-2022: Guidelines for Pressure Boundary Bolted Flange Joint Assembly

Travel and Work Environment

    • Significant travel expected to be 50%+ of the time. Travel likely will require overnight stays and possibly airline travel.
    • Ability to transport self to various facility sites as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
    • Occasional on-site appointments and application surveys require the ability to access and maneuver in Refinery and Chemical plant environments that may include stairs, ladders, scaffolds, and the use of mandated PPE.
    • Ability to obtain Safety Council Card and/or pass site-specific training required for site access. In possession of or qualified to obtain a TWIC card.

Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related course of study or a minimum of eight years related experience.
    • Gasket and sealing component knowledge and experience to include fluid conveyance/sealing applications; a high level of expertise required.
    • Completion of ASME PCC-1 Bolted Joints and Gaskets Design, Assembly, and Reliability Courses is a plus.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Zoom, Teams and other forms of online collaboration to be used in conjunction with job-specific software packages.
