The Cylinder Repair Technician (CRT) is responsible for all aspects of cylinder repair.  This includes but is not limited to disassembly, inspection, failure analysis, parts identification, repair, reassembly, paint and testing.  Mechanical aptitude is a must with a comprehensive understanding of the various tools associated with hydraulic cylinder rebuilding.    The ability to read schematics, diagrams and blueprints is required.  Must show a good attitude, willingness to learn, and work independently as well as with others.  Candidate must have their own basic tools.  Specialty tools unique to the job will be provided. 

Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards

    • Using hand/power tools and machining equipment (i.e., drill press, polish & honing machines, lathe, etc.)
    • Tear down and evaluation of components sent in for repair
    • Reading schematics/diagrams/blueprints
    • Quoting repairs in Excel and Word
    • Emailing documents in Outlook
    • Hydraulic test equipment operation, including flow meters, data acquisition, multi-meter, measuring tools.
    • Testing hydraulic systems
    • Troubleshooting circuits
    • Test stand operation
    • Component assembly
    • Hydraulic component failure analysis
    • Organize and maintain cleanliness of repair department
    • Other duties as assigned
    • Pneumatic paint spraying
    • Forklift operation
    • Other responsibilities and/or projects as assigned by management

Work Environment

    • Climate controlled shop environment

Requirements

    • Education: High school degree, GED, or equivalent required
    • Ongoing willingness to continue educational learning/training
    • Licenses/Certificates: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Skills

    • Experience working with power tools and hand tools
    • Forklift Operator
    • Good mechanical aptitude a must
    • Logical problem-solving and analytical ability
    • Strong interpersonal and both written and oral communication skills
    • Motivated self-starter with the ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments is required. 
    • Sound judgment and decision-making ability
    • Demonstrates integrity and ethical standards
    • Maintains a professional demeanor at all times
    • Team player who works productively with wide range of people

Physical Demands

    • Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, assembly, installation & troubleshooting efforts of fluid power systems
