Job Overview:
This position requires individuals with proven recent experience in industrial and hydraulic hose, fittings, and repair with brazing and tig welding skills. May operate materials handling equipment and light fabricating hand tools and forklift.
Responsibilities and Specific Skills:
· Knowledge of tools and methods of welding trade, including brazing, tig, soldering, and arc welding
· Use a variety of hand tools (wrench, hammer, handsaw, hand grinder, power drill, calipers) and shop equipment (hose crimp machine, reusable hose assembly equipment, hose test machine, cut off saw, grinder, forklift, hydraulic press, welder, acetylene torch, drill press band saw)
· Identify common hose and fittings through familiarity and knowledge of vendor products
· Select necessary hose and parts to make an assembly according to customer specifications
· Cut, fit and assemble then inspect/test completed assembly
· Basic knowledge of fluid power required
· Read and precisely interpret measurements and analyze digital calipers
· Keep inventory organized with correct counts on a regular basis and stock retail shelves and bins
· Perform other duties as required
Other Attributes:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Certificates: Certified welder preferred
· 3 years’ recent experience in hose assembly required
· Must be able to read, write and comprehend English (Bilingual in Spanish is preferred)
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Employee is regularly required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Employees are exposed to wet humid conditions and extreme heat. Employees frequently are exposed to moving machine parts and outside weather conditions. Working around machinery noise level is usually loud. Safety equipment includes eye and foot protection.
