Established in 2018, Sun Studio is a game developer on web platforms and mobile devices with more than 1 billion plays, a strategic partner of the world's leading web-games platforms such as: Facebook Instant Games, Game Distribution, Glance Gaming, Microsoft Start Games, Crazy Games etc.

The team consists of almost 70 members who are passionate about creating games that are accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

    • Team Leadership and Culture
    • Build, lead, and mentor engineering teams of 40+ members by hiring top talent, fostering a positive engineering culture, and supporting career growth for each engineer.
    • Encourage continuous learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing.

    • Collaboration with Product and Design
    • Work closely with product managers, game designers, UA, Artists, and relevant stakeholders to translate game concepts into robust technical solutions.
    • Ensure smooth execution of game features and live operations.

    • Technical Oversight
    • Guide the team on best practices in software engineering, code quality, and architecture.
    • Participate in coding, code reviews, and technical design, primarily in languages like C#, C++ (potentially TypeScript, NodeJS, Python depending on the project).
    • Take ownership of system architecture, code structure, render pipeline, GPU optimization, and overall performance.

    • Live Game Operations
    • Manage engineering efforts to support live games, from performance optimization and bug fixing to CI/CD pipelines, ensuring stability and player satisfaction.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to track key metrics, optimize game levels, and improve overall game operations (ops).

    • AI & Data Analysis
    • Integrate AI solutions to accelerate development, optimize game design, automate workflows, and personalize player experiences.
    • Employ BI tools, data analytics to continuously refine product decisions and enhancements.

    • Recruitment and Growth
    • Lead hiring efforts to expand the engineering team, building a diverse and skilled workforce capable of handling the company’s growing game portfolio.
    • Implement OKRs and KPIs to drive performance, set clear objectives, track progress, and maintain quality.

    • Process Improvement
    • Drive continuous improvement in development processes, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Regularly assess and refine strategies, workflows, and tools based on real-world data and feedback.

Required Qualifications

    • Engineering Management Experience
    • 7+ years of experience in game development, especially with Unity and Cocos.
    • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead overseeing large teams (40+ members).
    • Deep Technical Expertise
    • Strong programming skills in C#, C++, and familiarity with game development pipelines (build systems, deployment processes).
    • In-depth knowledge of system architecture, code architecture, GPU technologies, render pipelines, and large-scale game performance optimization.
    • Hands-on experience with data analysis, BI tools, and AI-driven solutions in game development/operations.
    • Leadership & Communication Skills
    • Demonstrated ability to cultivate a strong engineering culture, motivate team members, and guide professional development.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams (design, product, analytics).
    • Skilled in setting priorities, managing goals, and making data-informed decisions.

Compensation & Benefits

Work hour
- Our office hour is 9:00 - 18:30, Monday to Friday.
- We do not micromanage or count your work hours, but expect you to own your tasks, proactively communicate and be reachable during working time.
