As a Computer Vision Intern, you will assist the software engineering team in developing our environmental understanding systems by independently working on a clearly defined perception project with clear KPIs. The project you will work on has a clear path to real world field-deployments with our robots. During your internship you will be a core part of our team, joining and contributing to discussions on how to solve specific problems, get to know the fast-pace robotics startup world, gain experience in professional software development, have fun, and much more. Important Notice: For this position, we can unfortunately only accept applications from citizens of Schengen Area countries. This restriction does not apply to ETHZ and EPFL students who are required to complete compulsory internships as part of their studies.

What you'll be doing

    • Support the team in coding, debugging, and testing software components for visual perception systems.
    • Work autonomously (with guidance and supervision) on your own perception project. 
    • Aid in documenting code, testing procedures, and results for future reference.
    • Work closely with senior engineers to integrate software components and contribute ideas to enhance system performance.
    • Engage in continuous learning, gaining exposure to robotics and vision frameworks, libraries, and industry best practices.

What you must have

    • At least BSc in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
    • Proficiency in Python.
    • Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software development principles.
    • Hands-on experience (either through coursework, previous internships, or other projects) with deep learning for computer vision (One or more of: Object detection, instance tracking, segmentation, …).
    • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a team environment.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    • Familiarity with ROS2.
    • Previous coursework or projects related to robotics or deep learning.
