Sword is looking for a talented and experienced design manager to drive the branding and design agenda as we build our global brand. This role will focus on 3 main areas:
 
1- Creating design solutions- creatively direct design solutions which are compelling, memorable, and on-brand, ensuring that great design is at the forefront of all brand communications;
2- Branding- responsible for brand stewardship, specifically providing direction, guidance, and education to the internal organization on brand standards, visual identity, and campaign guidelines, as well as establishing best practices for governance;
3- Leadership- develop and scale an internal team of designers and work with outside creative agencies to manage all the brand marketing materials. As the brand champion and center for all creative requests, you will triage, prioritize and manage a range of marketing communications projects for internal and external audiences. Every aspect of the brand will come under your purview.

The role requires creativity, a solutions-oriented mindset as well as strong influencing and project management skills. The successful candidate will need to be able to efficiently multitask in a fast-paced environment, have a systematic approach, and be able to navigate around ambiguity.

Responsibilities:

    • Lead the brand design team to support the implementation of design guidelines as well as to maintain consistency across communications.
    • Be the subject matter expert and point of contact for review and guidance around the application of Sword brand and campaign standards across a variety of communication material.
    • Work on ad hoc marketing & communication projects to develop effective, brand-aligned design solutions.
    • Work closely with global marketing leads to support market execution, facilitating projects with production and design agencies.
    • Manage cross-functional work streams
    • Stay current on innovation trends within creative fields, acting as a brand evangelist, leading curation of thought-leadership, inspiration, and best practices

Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing in a creative/brand/design agency or similar role in a product organization.

Qualifications & Skills:

    • Degree in a design-related discipline.
    • A track record of executing and launching successful brands that build strong connections with their audience.
    • Proven ability to influence and partner with internal and external stakeholders to innovate and create effective design programs.
    • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
    • Strong organizational and presentation skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at a time.
    • Self-starter, solutions-oriented, systematic thinker, comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on, outcome-oriented work environment.
    • Expert knowledge in design programs across a variety of media (print, motion, video, web) including Adobe Suite and Figma.
    • Applicants must provide a link to their portfolio of work samples showing videos, print, digital, etc.
