What is Sylvera anyway? ‍👩‍👨🌳
Sylvera is scaling carbon markets with software. We do this by applying advanced machine learning techniques to satellite data to quantify with unprecedented accuracy the amount of carbon stored in landscapes - and then we visualise that data to our customers.

We believe the transparency Sylvera provides will enable carbon markets to have a more positive impact on the world in a shorter space of time. This will be critical in keeping the planet under 2C of warming and provide huge wider benefits to  nature and society.

Founded just 2 years ago, Sylvera has now scaled to over 100 employees across the world and has raised over $30m from leading VCs like Index Ventures and Insight Partners. We’ve also collaborated with leading institutions - University College London and UCLA.

What will I be doing? ‍‍👩‍💻👨‍💻
Your mission is to work in the Ratings Production team to assist in the creation and monitoring of processes and systems to ensure that we can consistently deliver high quality ratings at scale. To succeed, you will need to be comfortable deep diving into and improving any process, coming up with and implementing new production systems, and maintaining and improving existing ones. You will also need a systematic mindset, should be comfortable with quantitative and qualitative work, be experienced in Excel or Google Sheets, and have some programming knowledge.

You will be part of the growing Product Operations team. In your day-to-day, you’ll be working closely with all levels of the Ratings teams, as well as with other teams such as Machine Learning, Product and Engineering. You will be improving and maintaining existing processes and systems, as well as creating new ones, following and contributing to our systems and processes roadmap. 

You will play a role in ensuring we keep producing market-leading quality improvements while increasing our output by 10x-20x. Opportunities for progression and development will appear quickly, and will likely look something like:
- Managing your own team.
- Owning entire functional areas within the team.
- Becoming a specialist in the fast growing voluntary carbon market.
- Contributing to creating frameworks and ensuring they are built for long-term production.

We’re looking for someone who: 🧠💚

    • Has experience in creating and maintaining processes in a fast-moving environment
    • Has experience in developing tools as part of a continuously evolving system
    • Is experienced in Excel or Google Sheets
    • Is comfortable with at least one major programming language and keen to learn new ones as required
    • Is comfortable jumping between qualitative and quantitative concepts
    • Can work independently and as a team player
    • Has strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Cares deeply about the climate and ecosystems of the earth
    • Is a self-starter who thrives in constantly evolving environments
    • Has leadership experience (nice to have)
