Synthego is looking for a Product Manager to own the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, including ideation, voice of customer, technical content development, competitive analysis, messaging & product testing for Stem Cell Products & Services.
The ideal candidate is a creative scientist, who has a keen attention to detail and a deep passion for problem solving & creating product solutions, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  

The role will focus on the development of all new Stem Cell products & services. The Product Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Synthego quickly identifies and builds an innovative suite of products that are commercially successful.

The role will work within a core alpha team consisting of a bench & bioinformatics scientist to bring new product ideas to life and test their market feasibility. After demonstrating market success, they would transition into the Product Growth team along with product to drive scale.

Success at this position will be defined by an individual’s ability to synthesize numerous data points such as target customer persona, market size, customer need, how well our products service this need, competitive products & position, and strategic company fit, to provide a data-driven direction for a new product or applications of the existing product.

What You'll Do

    • Lead the ideation, development, and execution of the new product pipeline in the stem cell market, by engaging internal and external KOLs, conducting market and customer research and working with the core alpha team
    • Identify gaps in the customer workflow and develop product solutions that address those gaps
    • Develop a business case for each product & market segment, as it goes through the NPI process, promoting data driven decisions
    • Develop and test product specifications to create a well-differentiated product that addresses a significant market need
    • Identify and develop strong relationships with industry partners and key opinion leaders to create and test Synthego products
    • Drive products that were successful in early testing towards the beta phase of the NPI process, with a successful transition of the product vision to the Product Growth team
    • Partner with the core alpha team to develop strong product messaging that is refined through rapid testing with customers, driving a Design, Build, Test & Learn cycle
    • Implement and maintain "best practices" in product development by owning the NPI process for their products/services

About You

    • PhD in Life Sciences field with strong knowledge of CRISPR or other genome engineering products and stem cells (iPS or ES)
    • 3-5 years product management or Field Application Scientist experience in a life science or drug discovery company
    • Strong working knowledge of iPS cells and ideally some hands-on experience with stem cells
    • Detail oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong organizational skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience presenting to high level audiences
    • Creative, self-driven problem-solver, with ability to work in a fast paced environment
    • Strong ability to work well as part of team to build consensus with peers and management
