That’s all well and good, but despite our high-tech profile, we recognize that none of this is possible without our people. Which is why we’re thrilled to be adding an IT Technician to our team. In this role, you’ll act as technical support for our standard application software/hardware to meet user and company needs. Ideally, you’ll have a blend of strong technical and customer service skills. 

Here’s what you’ll be working on:

    • Performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis for incidents related to networking systems, desktops, laptops, servers, printing, multi-functional devices, and other system components to maintain availability and improve reliability
    • Setting up user devices such as computers, monitors, and other peripherals for employee on-boarding to ensure they have the appropriate hardware to meet their needs
    • Researching, evaluating, and testing software/hardware products to determine value and applicability to company operations
    • Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
    • Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications
    • Developing and maintaining local networks in ways that optimize performance
    • Ensuring security and privacy of networks and computer systems
    • Providing orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
    • Organizing and scheduling upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
    • Performing troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
    • Maintaining records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
    • Identifying computer or network equipment shortages and placing orders

A good IT Technician at Synthetaic must have the following skills, knowledge, education and experience:

    • Computer networking: knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless, encryption, and VPNs
    • Office 365 & Azure AD: User management, permissions, and licensing
    • Computer Hardware: Knowledge pertaining to the internals of a computer and their functions (CPU, RAM, SSDs, graphics, etc.), as well as printers, monitors, peripherals, and connections
    • Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
    • Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems 
    • Permanent eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship

If you want to go above and beyond, bring these skills and characteristics to the table:

    • Certification as an IT Technician (e.g.: CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
    • Experience with Unifi networking, Azure, Slack, LastPass, SharePoint, Active Directory, and Google Workspace
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
