We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer specializing in Military Command and Control (C2) systems. The successful candidate must be a Canadian citizen and will be required to work onsite in Gatineau, Quebec, five days a week.
 

What you'll do

    • C2 System Architecture
    • Demonstrate expertise in understanding, designing and evolving the architecture of Military C2 systems, ensuring optimal command center functionality and communication network integration.

    • Military Operations Understanding 
    • Apply a comprehensive understanding of military operations and command structures to align C2 systems with operational requirements effectively.
    •  
      Communication Protocols and Security 
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of communication protocols in military environments and implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive information.

    • Geospatial Awareness
    • Utilize geospatial data and technologies for real-time tracking and coordination of military assets on digital maps within the C2 system.
    •  
      Data Fusion and Analysis
    • Employ data fusion and analysis techniques to process and interpret information from multiple sources, providing actionable intelligence for military decision-makers.
    •  
      Interoperability 
    • Ensure seamless interoperability between different military systems by adhering to relevant standards and protocols.
    •  
      Command Decision Support Systems 
    • Develop decision support systems that empower military commanders with real-time data and analysis for informed decision-making.

    • Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) 
    • Design intuitive and effective user interfaces for C2 systems, considering HCI principles to enhance usability for military personnel.

    • Simulation and Training 
    • Leverage simulation technologies for realistic scenario-based training of military personnel in the use of C2 systems.

    • Command and Control Software Development 
    • Demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as ADA, Java, C++, or C# for the development of C2 software.
    •  
      Agile and SAFe Methodologies 
    • Apply Agile methodologies, particularly the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), in the development of complex military software systems.
    •  
      Case Tools and Project Management
    • Utilize CASE tools, including Rational Team Concert and JIRA, for efficient project management and collaboration.
    •  
      Software Engineering
    • Leverage a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Software Engineer, specifically focusing on Military Command and Control (C2) systems.
    •  
      Program Development
    • Contribute a minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience as a Programmer within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) for an onsite client, ensuring the successful development and implementation of software solutions.

    • Technical Proficiency
    • Possess a minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in at least two (2) of the following technical areas:

    • Programming Languages
    • Utilize at least 1 of the following high-level languages: ADA (95, 05, 2012), Java, C++, or C#.
    •  
      Software Development Process
    • Work with client-mandated Software Development processes, particularly in the context of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
    •  
      Object-Oriented Analysis and Design
    • Demonstrate proficiency in performing object-oriented analysis and design to ensure efficient and scalable software solutions.

What you'll need to get the job done

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
    • Canadian citizenship is mandatory.
    • Strong background in object-oriented analysis and design.
