Shop Your Way (“SYW”) is a high-growth FinTech and e-Commerce enablement platform that leverages a proprietary technology infrastructure to service some of the largest and most innovative brands in America. SYW powers multiple business and consumer services, including SYW Rewards and the SYW Mastercard, along with a leading mobile app and digital destination. 

When bundled together as part of our Pay Your Way (“PYW”) service, we have a truly differentiated loyalty + credit solution for our business partners and their customers, without the hassle of setting up a direct credit relationship with a bank or underwriter. Pay Your Way: Payments as a Service
Pay Your Way (“PYW”) – a business unit, B2B(2C) product and platform inside SYW – is a new Credit-as-a-Service offering for Merchants, Digital Marketplaces, and more that want an embedded credit offering without the hassle of setting up a direct credit relationship with a bank or underwriter.  We make it easy for Partners of any size to improve their conversions, drive new revenue, save on transaction and payment costs, and create more repeat business.  

Our existing partnerships with clients such as Citibank, Raise.com, and others make the next generation of loyalty and credit a reality. Built on the latest technology, our roadmap has laid the foundation to enable innovation and growth for years to come. 

Role Summary: Product Manager, Payments

We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager, Payments to help shape the roadmap, drive launches, and lead adoption efforts for Pay Your Way (“PYW”) - a business unit, B2B(2C) product and platform inside SYW. The PYW payments platform, including core payments APIs, serves the needs of  businesses ranging from small startups to the large consumer platforms.
 
You’ll partner with the Product team to understand and help prioritize the needs of our most technical users, and shape the launch of our core APIs and Implementations.

Responsibilities:

    • Define the roadmap for their platforms (with a global standpoint)
    • Provide a clear vision to the SCRUM teams and execute on the roadmap with clear milestones for business and engineering
    • Communicate the strategies and trade-offs to the VP and CEO
    • Work cross-functionally, align understanding in real-time with engineering, architecture, stakeholders, and other various teams throughout the software development lifecycle

Requirements:

    • BS Computer Science or equivalent, MS Computer Science/MBA preferred
    • 8+ of product management experience in the FinTech payments sector (2-3 years as a software engineer highly valued).
    • A strong background in mobile payments (QR payments) is a must
    • Experience with Acquiring services (merchant side) preferred, but Issuing (user side), including mobile apps, also valued
    • Experience with Core Banking services e.g. mobile wallets
    • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment deals well with ambiguity and focuses on driving impact
    • Demonstrated ownership of defining and executing world-class consumer/B2B products in a high-velocity environment
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions and low-level technical discussions
    • Experience in managing end to end app release cycles, from product discovery, design, development, UAT, QA, post-release monitoring, analytics, and reporting
    • Strong user experience sensibilities and appreciation for minimal interface design
    • Deep understanding of analytics, business intelligence, and data warehousing tools, user research, and business cases to drive decisions and improve products
    • Experience launching A/B tests, and know how to learn and iterate from all tests (winning or not)
    • Wheel continues to maintain its commit5+ years of relevant work experience that can span software development, marketing, product marketing, product management, sales engineering, operational roles, or strategy consulting
    • At least 2-3 years of product marketing or other go-to-market strategy work experience, preferably in a technology company
    • Experience working with technical products is preferred; direct experience with software development may be helpful but is not required

Nice to have:

    • Experience working in one of the following areas: architecture, design, implementations of a payment processing system, writing REST APIs
    • Worked directly with Software Engineering teams on the backend, full-stack
    • Familiar with regulatory licensing and general rules around payments
    • Define and manage the product roadmap, document product strategy, coordinate stakeholder conversations, maintain the feature backlog, and coordinate releases
    • Use data, insights, systems thinking, and stakeholder input to create game-changing, innovative solutions that automate and optimize the financial infrastructure and product suite
    • Create detailed specifications and partner with engineering to ensure the delivery of products with predictable timelines
    • Communicate constantly and effectively to align all relevant stakeholders around the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery
    • Integrate qualitative and quantitative user feedback into product requirements to ensure products satisfy and delight users on all sides of the marketplace
    • Continually gather and analyze data to create a data-driven culture that is biased towards actionable insight and create data-driven justification to drive investment for product functionality. Define success metrics, track, and iterate based on pre-determined milestones.
