VP of North America

Tachyus delivers the leading prescriptive analytics platform to oil and gas producers. Our customers include large and small oil companies and state-owned entities. We need a VP of North America to run our US and Canadian business development and customer success processes. This requires delighting our current customers, for renewal and growth, and acquiring the right new customers.

The right candidate will bring experience managing teams of business development and customer success professionals, and working personally to close and maintain accounts with executives in the oil and gas industry. They will have a deep network of existing contacts across North America to call upon as we expand our business in the US and Canada. Tachyus's VP of North America is a member of the leadership team tasked with maximizing the value creation for existing domestic customers, ensuring renewals, and achieving successful upsells. The right hire will aggressively grow Tachyus’ North America revenue and expand our customer success and account management processes accordingly.

We are looking for someone who is excited to own our most important customer relationships, and ensure our North America customer relationships grow and thrive.


    • Lead all North America Customer Success Engineers and Managers to sell and deploy Tachyus software across the US and Canada
    • Identify and grow opportunities within North America oil and gas producers by extending our solutions footprint (more solutions to more assets)
    • Convert field trial contracts into initial sales contracts
    • Renew enterprise-wide deals with existing customers
    • Ensure continued rapid revenue growth for Tachyus
    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
    • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer and executive sponsors
    • Communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives internally and externally
    • Forecast and track key North America account metrics
    • Roll up sleeves and get hands dirty, leading by example


    • Extensive existing oil and gas domain experience as a service provider, including in unconventional operations
    • Management experience leading teams and being accountable for a P&L
    • Proven track record managing major enterprise accounts
    • Proven track record of closing multi-million dollar deals 
    • Business development experience interfacing with senior executives of oil and gas operators
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
    • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • Curiosity to build and define new ways of doing business as a leader of a startup customer success and business development team
    • 75% Traveling, with significant travel between Bakersfield, CA, Texas, Calgary


    • A petroleum engineering degree
    • Experience with software production management systems
    • Experience in multiple regions
