It’s an exciting time to join Tactile. We're one of the largest Danish gaming companies, based in the heart of Copenhagen, and we have been scaling fast in the last few years. We are currently on the search for a Data Engineer who will become part of the newly formed Data Platform team.

The Data Platform team at Tactile is in charge of providing data products and services throughout the business. You will be responsible for the architecture of all of our data, which is collected from external providers and millions of DAUs worldwide. Besides processing and monitoring these large datasets, you will also help to develop new features and products, as well as maintain the existing ones. You will be working in very close collaboration with our end-users and your colleagues, particularly the Data Science team, in a continuously evolving and agile environment.

The Tactile Data Platform is used by everyone in the company to make data driven decisions. This can for instance be game teams evaluating a new game release, the marketing team evaluating user acquisition campaigns, user support investigating support enquiries or the quality assurance team checking for regressions by looking at the data generated by a release candidate.

This position is full-time and based on-site in our Copenhagen office.

As a Date Engineer at Tactile you will be:

    • Extending and maintaining the Tactile Data Platform to ensure the availability of data to the entire business
    • Collaborating with Data Scientists and Analysts throughout the company on data processing tasks to facilitate analysis and machine learning needs
    • Collaborating within the Data Platform team to devise solutions to business problems, bringing your skills and ideas into every discussion
    • Ensuring quality of the solutions, testing them and ensuring best practices are used throughout the development process - particularly with regard to self-explanatory code, maintainability and scalability

    • Strong interest in Data Engineering
    • Advanced knowledge of Typescript, JavaScript and NodeJS
    • Experience with Linux and Docker
    • Excellent knowledge of SQL

Major pluses:

    • Experience in the gaming industry, or a major interest in it
    • Experience with Python
    • Familiarity with common Python data processing libraries such as Pandas, NumPy and SciPy
    • Experience with Airflow
    • Experience with using cloud computing services like AWS or Google Cloud
    • Experience with column-oriented databases such as Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift or Vertica
    • Familiarity with the concept of TDD
At Tactile, we work hard to nurture an open and amicable work environment, based on trust, individual freedom and responsibility. Our colleagues work together on projects in a flat structure with little hierarchy. We firmly believe that when talented people collaborate instead of compete, amazing things happen! This is why we consider ourselves not only a growing company, but also a growing family.
