We are seeking a passionate and empathetic People Manager to lead and inspire a high-performing team in Mexico. The ideal candidate will be a champion of our company culture, a trusted advisor to both team members and leadership, and a skilled facilitator of growth and development. This role is crucial for creating and owning local HR processes and policies. You will also be the main decision-maker for the People team in Mexico, in addition to leading the team.
We see this role evolving into a more senior and broader position as our company grows in the LATAM region.

What You’ll Do

    • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Lead, mentor, and coach people team in Mexico, providing clear direction, setting expectations, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
    • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team check-ins to provide support, gather feedback, and address challenges.
    • Develop and implement strategies for individual and team growth.


    • Performance Management:

    • Oversee the performance review process, ensuring goals are set, feedback is delivered constructively, and achievements are recognized.
    • Address performance issues proactively and collaboratively, creating and monitoring performance improvement plans as needed.
    • Ensure alignment between individual performance and overall team and company objectives.


    • Compensation and Benefits: 

    • Drive pay equity: Proactively work to ensure fair and equitable compensation practices.
    • Communicate total rewards: Effectively explain the full value of our compensation philosophy, including salary, bonuses, stock options, and benefits, to help employees understand their total rewards package.
    • Tie performance to rewards: Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure compensation decisions are directly linked to performance and individual contributions.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor: Act as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding compensation, benefits, and policies.


    • Employee Relations:

    • Act as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and conflict resolution.
    • Mediate disputes and promote a positive and respectful workplace culture.
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies and relevant labor laws.


    • Recruitment & Onboarding/ Offboarding:

    • Collaborate with the recruiting team to identify hiring needs.
    • Develop and lead effective onboarding programs to ensure new hires are successfully integrated into the team and company.


    • Strategic People Initiatives:

    • Collaborate with senior leadership to implement and drive people-focused initiatives that support business goals.
    • Collect and analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and inform decision-making.

What You’ll Need

    • Experience:

    • 8 years of experience in a people management role at least 3 in leadership roles.
    • HRIS Knowledge: Knowledge and experience in managing HRIS, especially with platforms like BambooHR and Lattice.
    • Experience with performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
    • Experience managing teams in other Latin American countries is a plus.
    • Experience working in startup environments is a must, and experience in global companies is a plus.


    • Skills:

    • Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in english and spanish with the ability to build trust and rapport at all levels.
    • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex interpersonal and business challenges.
    • Proactiveness & Ownership: A self-starter with a high degree of drive and initiative. You must be comfortable with ambiguity, able to independently solve problems, and eager to take full ownership of challenges. We are looking for someone who wants to be an active participant in the decision-making process.
    • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
